NOTES: UCLA commit Celio Pompeu had three goals and five assists while Ronald Mafunzwaini came up big in the postseason again this year with four goals in two matches as St. Benedict's prep rolled to 7-0 wins over Lawrenceville Prep and Pennington School. St. Benedict's outscored its opponents 109-5 and beat teams from six states, which included multi-goal wins over St. Ignatius (Ohio) and Salesianum (Del.) and a 2-1 win over Walt Whitman (Md.). The team, with five major college prospects in the starting 11, was led defensively by Cao Chavez. Mafunzwaini finished with 14 goals and 14 assists. Julian Gomez led the team with 17 goals. Pomepu ended with 15 goals and 22 assists. St. Benedict's is 167-8-3 in nine seasons under Jimmy Wandling, and the program has won state titles in 29 of the past 30 seasons. |

Gonzalo Percovich gave The Heights a 1-0 lead before Princeton commit Daniel Diaz-Bonilla added a second goal. The Heights received an own goal for the final margin. The Heights had multiple wins over Gonzaga (D.C.) and Paul VI (Va.), handing them each lopsided regular season losses before the playoff rematches. The Heights is ranked No. 2 in The Washington Post behind Walt Whitman, and the teams have comparable results against common opponents.

Bailey Arthur assisted the winning goal. Sophomore keeper Charlie Eaton had six saves, but one was a game-saving diving stop that gave Chesterton a chance to win. Senior defender Jack Eaton and junior forward Seth Conway were first-team all-district selections. Charlie Eaton and sophomore forward Jack Bowser were second-team all-district picks. |
