NOTES: Jamar Ricketts scored twice and Rhys Armstrong, Peter Yaro and Thiago Quintanhila added goals as St. Benedict's capped its third straight undefeated season with a 5-1 Prep A state final victory over Pennington School. The Gray Bees are riding a 57-match undefeated streak. This year's squad tied St. Ignatius (Ohio) on the road and posted the only defeats on the schedules of Top 25-ranked Salesianum (Del.) and Walt Whitman (Md.). Overall, St. Benedict's defeated six SIMA FAB 50 teams. This year's St. Benedict's squad was led by defender Cao Chaves as the Gray Bees outscored their opponents 89-6. Tony Yeboah, a junior, led the team in scoring with 14 goals. Zemi Rodriguez, also a junior, added 13 goals. Coach Jimmie Wandling has a 10-year coaching record of 186-8-4. |

NOTES: Everett Shorey scored the first three goals as St. Ignatius claimed its ninth state title with a 4-0 victory over SIMA FAB 50-ranked Olentangy Liberty. The Wildcats dethroned defending state champion and SIMA FAB 50 Top 10-ranked Medina in the state semifinals, 3-0. St. Ignatius and St. Benedict's played to a 2-2 draw, leaving these powers as Co-No. 1s for the 2019 fall season. St. Ignatius had five wins over FAB 50-ranked teams, which included a 2-0 victory of Peoria Notre Dame (Ill.). Notre Dame commit Matthew McLaughlin and Indiana commit Kyle Folds were named to the Ohio Division I all-state team. |

NOTES: Brandon Yanez, Alex Garcia, Sergio Ventura and Juan Gomez scored the goals as Brentwood rolled to a 4-0 state final victory over Fairport. In the 40th season with the program, coach Ron Eden dressed 40 players -- and all 40 got into Sunday's state final, which ended 4-0. Brentwood's run through the postseason also included a section title win over Top 25-ranked Commack and then state tournament wins over Massapequa and Ossining. Eden has been the head coach for 24 seasons and during that time Brentwood has made 10 state tournament appearances with four titles. Brentwood started No. 30 in the preseason SIMA FAB 50 but will end as the nation's top-ranked public school program. |

NOTES: Andrew Kogut converted a rebound from short distance, sending Summit to a 2-1 overtime victory over Platte County in the state final. Favored Summit trailed Platte County, which entered the match with a 26-1 record, until just under four minutes remaining in regulation. That's when Summit star Christian Kraus netted the game-tying goal, his 45th of the season. In the second overtime session, it was Kraus' shot that was saved by the keeper, but the rebound ended up on the foot of Kogut who scored into an empty net. |

NOTES: Chris Freeman and Alex Carr scored only 34 seconds apart late in the second half and Ben Weidner added an insurance goal in the closing minutes as Zionsville rallied for a 3-1 state final victory over Lake Central. Zionsville becomes only the fourth team in Indiana boys soccer playoff-era history to post a perfect record. Weidner assisted on Carr's game-winner. The Eagles, last year's state runner-up, started the season ranked No. 12 in the Mid-East regional rankings. |

NOTES: Medina's 32-match undefeated streak ended with a 3-0 loss to St. Ignatius in the state semifinals. The Bees are 38-2-5 over the last two seasons. The lone blemish on Medina's record prior to a state semifinal loss was a tie with Prep Top 10-ranked Northwood School (N.Y.). Medina was perfect against all other Ohio competition, led by senior Parker Csiszar, who was named the Ohio Division I Player of the Year. Goalkeeper Jake Vogrin was named second-team all-state. Medina started the season ranked No. 7 in the SIMA FAB 50 in July. |

The Huskies, which started the season ranked No. 29 in the SIMA FAB 50, tied their first match of the season and then rolled off 23 straight wins to finish among the nation's elite. The title was a bit of revenge for Forest Hills Northern, which lost in last year's final to end the season at 23-1-1. |

North Penn started No. 42 in the SIMA FAB 50 preseason rankings. Central Bucks West, the state runner-up, started No. 20. |

The win marked Whitman's second straight state title, second straight SIMA FAB 50 Top 20 finish. Whitman has won 11 state titles, seven under coach Dave Greene. The past two seasons, Whitman's only losses have been to SIMA FAB 50 national No. 1 St. Benedict's Prep (N.J.). The Vikings move ahead of fellow regional power Salesianum (Del.). The teams had two common opponents -- both losing one-goal matches to St. Benedict's and both beating Walter Johnson. Whitman handled Walter Johnson 5-0, while Salesianum defeated Walter Johnson 3-1. Whitman started No. 34 in the preseason SIMA FAB 50. |

Sallies simply dominates Delaware, so it's the team's out-of-state matches that provide it national measure. This year's team lost only to top-ranked St. Benedict's (N.J.). Salesianum started No. 41 in the SIMA FAB 50 preseason rankings. |

Led by Liberty commit Jonathan Munoz, Olathe West defeated Blue Valley West 2-1 in the state final. Henry Curnow scored Olathe West's first goal and Munoz gave the team a 2-0 lead. BVW converted a late penalty kick for the final margin. The result also atoned for the team's lone blemish, a shootout loss to Blue Valley West during the opening week of the season. Olathe West ended the season with an 18-match win streak. |

After all, this is West Chicago's first state title in ANY sport since 1974. Defender Ben Suddeth was named to the Illinois Coaches All-State team. |

Last year, the team lost in the Western Mass Division 1 final to Ludlow, which went on to win the state title. This year, Longmeadow defeated Ludlow on the way to a Western Mass Division 1 title and a state title. |

DeSmet won 11-10 in kicks from the spot following a scoreless match. The shootout was 4-4 after five rounds. The teams matched each other kick for kick for seven rounds before Mulvaney's save won the match. DeSmet started the season ranked No. 36 in the preseason SIMA FAB 50. |
