FAB 50 High School Soccer Team Rankings

The boys fall high school season includes the following states: Colorado, Connecticut, D.C., Delaware, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont, Virginia (fall only), West Virginia, Wisconsin.

The rankings are compiled by high school rankings editor Sheldon Shealer.

1 (1) St. Benedict's Prep Newark, NJ 15-0-1
Israel Neto, Thiago Quintanhila and Tony Yeboah scored the goals as St. Benedict's defeated Chaminade (N.Y.) 3-0 last week, extending the program's undefeated run to 53 matches. The Gray Bees also handled North Star Academy 7-0 last week.
2 (2) St. Ignatius Cleveland, OH 15-0-2
St. Ignatius opened postseason play with an 11-1 victory over Valley Forge. It might be a few rounds until St. Ignatius even gets challenged.
3 (3) Medina Medina, OH 16-0-1
The defending state champs opened postseason play with a 5-0 win over Barberton with five different players scoring goals.
4 (4) Delbarton School Morristown, NJ 16-0-1
Brendan McSorley and Ivan Scotto each scored in two of Delbarton's three matches last week as the team posted wins of Morristown, Mendham and Montville.
5 (5) Lee's Summit Lee's Summit, MO 13-0-0
Hunter McGuire and Timothy Smith scored the goals as Lee's Summit edged rival Lee's Summit North 2-1 in the Crosstown Showdown.
6 (6) Peoria Notre Dame Peoria, IL 18-1-0
Noah Madrigal scored four goals and Myles Sophanavong added three goals and two assists as Peoria Notre Dame closed out regular season play with a pair of victories.
7 (7) Brentwood Brentwood, NY 14-0-0
Brandon Yanez netted the go-ahead goal as Brentwood edged Ward Melville 3-2 to secure the Suffolk I regular season title.
8 (8) Rockwood Summit Fenton, MO 18-0-1
Summit kept is undefeated season in tact with a shootout win over Fort Zumwalt West, capping a three-win week. Christian Kraus had three goals and one assist in the team's earlier wins over Christian Brothers and Webster Groves.
9 (9) Forest Hills Northern Grand Rapids, MI 19-0-1
Forest Hills Northern used a pair of first-half goals to post a 2-0 district final victory over Forest Hills Eastern.
10 (10) Zionsville Zionsville, IN 19-0-0
Chris Freeman scored twice as Zionsville built a 4-1 halftime lead before holding off Greenfield Central 4-3 in the regional championship. In Indiana, the regional semifinals and final are played in the same day. earlier Saturday, Zionsville edged Cathedral 3-2 as junior Alex Carr scored twice. The Eagles next face Columbus East in the state semifinals.
11 (11) Lower Merion Ardmore, PA 17-0-1
Lower Merion closed out the season as the lone undefeated team in District 1-AAAA with a 5-0 win over Friends School. The Aces also handled Haverford 9-1 with Shane Brown and Reid Joseph each scoring twice and Phil Monos adding a goal and two assists.

New Trier Winnetka, IL 14-1-4
New Trier closed out the regular season with a 7-1 victory over Chicago St. Ignatius. Sunjay Joshi scored twice for the Trevians.

Milwaukee Marquette Milwaukee, WI 17-1-1
Ivan Micanovic scored the lone goal as Marquette closed out the regular season with a 1-0 win over Whitefish Bay in a clash of recent Wisconsin state powers.

Edina Edina, MN 19-0-0
Edina defeated Minnetonka 2-0 to advance to this week's state tournament. Edina pinned all three losses on Minnetonka this season.

Olathe West Olathe, KS 13-1-0
Olathe West handled rival Olathe East 3-0 last week to run its win streak to 11 matches.

Salesianum Wilmington, DE 11-1-0
Alex Krumenacker had a goal and one assist as Salesianum started the week with a 2-1 win over Rancocas Valley (N.J.). New Hampshire commit Andrew Blackwell then had a goal and one assist in the team's 3-0 win over C.M. Wright (Md.).

Sophomore standout Christian Nava netted five goals in two Albuquerque wins last week as the team stayed undefeated. Nava has topped 20 goals for the season.

Amityville Amityville, NY 15-0-0
Felix Hernandez scored in the closing minute of the second overtime as Amityville stayed perfect with a 2-1 win over Shoreham-Wading River. Amityville won an earlier meeting with Shoreham-Wading River by the same 2-1 margin. The recent win clinches a fourth straight league title for Amityville.

Alec Hughes scored twice as Glastonbury defeated Southington 5-0 to cap a two-win week.

Worthington Kilbourne Worthington, OH 14-0-3
Chris Guerra scored twice as Kilbourne cruised to a 6-0 win over Mount Vernon in the team's playoff opener.

Fremd Palatine, IL 11-1-4
Fremd used a five-goal second half to bury Wheeling 7-1 in the MSL Cup final, marking the most lopsided final in the 43-year history of the event.

Bishop Gorman Las Vegas, NV 19-0-1
Last year, Bishop Gorman's girls soccer team went undefeated and finished among the nation's top teams. This year, it's the boys team riding an undefeated record late in the season. Interestingly, both programs are coached by the same person -- Doug Borgel.

Dario Maricevic held Lindenhurst scoreless in Commack's 1-0 last week, marking his ninth shutout of the season. Jackson Masters scored the lone goal.

Okemos defeated perennial state title challenger East Kentwood 3-1 in the district final, sending notice this team is a serious Division I title threat.
