FAB 50 High School Soccer Team Rankings

The boys fall high school season includes the following states: Colorado, Connecticut, D.C., Delaware, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont, Virginia (fall only), West Virginia, Wisconsin.

The rankings are compiled by high school rankings editor Sheldon Shealer.

St. Benedict's Prep Newark, NJ 11-0-1
Tony Yeboah's second-half header, assisted by Cao Chaves, helped St. Benedict's rally for a 2-1 win over Salesianum (Del.) in a clash of perennial national powers. The win marked St. Benedict's third come-from-behind effort in the last five games. The Gray Bees also posted wins over New Jersey Non-Public A defending state champion Christian Brothers and Lawrenceville School last week.

St. Ignatius Cleveland, OH 12-0-2
Everett Shorey scored both goals as St. Ignatius upended Peoria Notre Dame (Ill.), the former FAB 50 No. 1 team, in a clash of national powers played before 2,000 spectators. The Wildcats completed the weekend sweep in Illinois by downing St. Ignatius (Ill.) 3-0. In the match with Peoria Notre Dame, the contest was scoreless until midway through the second half. Indiana commit Kyle Folds struck a free kick that bounced off the PND keeper and straight to Shorey, who finished for the first goal. He later got behind the defense for the game-clincher in the closing minutes.

Delbarton School Morristown, NJ 12-0-0
Ivan Scotto had a goal and one assist as Delbarton defeated Chatham 2-0 in county tournament play. Earlier in the week Delbaton defeated Mendham and Randolph.

Medina Medina, OH 13-0-1
Medina's perfect record ended, but in a quality result. The Bees took on rising prep school power Northwood School (N.Y.), currently one of the Prep Top 10 members, and the match finished in a scoreless draw.

Lee's Summit Lee's Summit, MO 9-0-0
Lee's Summit allowed its first goal of the season after 680 minutes, yet emerged with a 6-1 win over Park Hill South.

Libertyville Libertyville, IL 11-0-2
Libertyville had a tie and a win last week. The Wildcats move up in light of other teams' defeats, but the Wildcats will be put to the test next week with a match against Peoria Notre Dame. Libertyville is 52-2-2 in its last 56 matches.

Holmdel handled Middletown North 3-0 in the team's only outing last week.

Peoria Notre Dame Peoria, IL 14-1-0
Peoria Notre Dame's perfect start was halted in a 2-0 setback to St. Ignatius (Ohio) in a clash of national powers last week. The match was scoreless at halftime before St. Ignatius pulled away in the final 21 minutes.

Brentwood was idle last week.

Forest Hills Northern has allowed only five goals this season. Last week, the Huskies defeated state-ranked Grand Rapids Christian and Forest Hills Central.

Alec Hughes and Liam Kelleher each scored twice as Glastonbury closed out the week with a win over Wethersfield.

Zionsville closed out a perfect regular season with wins over Brownsburg and Bishop Guertin last week. The Eagles face Carmel in the opening round of postseason play this week.

New Trier pinned a 4-0 defeat on previously undefeated Evanston last week in a clash of highly ranked Illinois programs. New Trier's lone loss is to undefeated Libertyville.
15 Mount Carmel (Chicago) Chicago, IL 14-2-1
Felix Mendoza and Danny Favela scored the goals as Mount Carmel stunned Marquette (Wis.) 2-0 in the Go 4 the Goal Fall Classic top bracket title. Mount Carmel had knocked off Naperville North in the semifinals. The showing vaulted Mount Carmel into the Top 25 for the first time.

Milwaukee Marquette Milwaukee, WI 13-1-1
Marquette's undefeated run ended with a 2-0 loss to Mount Carmel in the Go 4 the Goal Fall Classic final. En route to the final, Marquette defeated a pair of former Top 25-ranked teams: Gateway Legacy (Mo.) and Morton (Ill.).

Casey Ott scored twice as Edina defeated Hopkins 3-0 to finish off a perfect regular season.

Chesterton and Zionsville might be on a collision course again this year in the Indiana state playoffs. The Trojans closed out a second straight undefeated regular season with a 7-0 win over LaPorte.

Olathe West defeated Olathe Northwest and Shawnee Mission South last week to rise to the top of the Kansas 6A points standings.

Sean Sullivan and Sam Wilson scored the goals as Cardinal Gibbons edged rival Broughton 2-1 to take over the league lead. The Crusaders followed up that result with a 2-0 win over former SIMA FAB 50-ranked Chaminade (Mo.).
