FAB 50 High School Soccer Team Rankings

The boys fall high school season includes the following states: Colorado, Connecticut, D.C., Delaware, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont, Virginia (fall only), West Virginia, Wisconsin.

The rankings are compiled by high school rankings editor Sheldon Shealer.

Peoria Notre Dame Peoria, IL 11-0-0
Peoria Notre Dame checks in at No. 1 for the first time ever, just in time for its ultimate challenge. The Irish take on FAB 50 No. 3 St. Ignatius (Ohio) next week. A win would validate a No. 1 ranking, but a tie or loss will change this team's ranking. Last week, PND rolled to three wins by an 18-1 margin. PND has two FAB 50 wins this season, and after playing St. Ignatius will take on FAB 50 No. 8 Libertyville a week later.
2 (2) St. Benedict's Prep Newark, NJ 7-0-1
St. Benedict's rallied from a 2-0 deficit to salvage a 2-2 tie with St. Ignatius (Ohio) in a FAB 50 No. 1 vs. No. 2 clash last week. Rhys Armstrong started the rally by converting a penalty kick. Marco Chavez scored the game-tying goal.

St. Ignatius Cleveland, OH 8-0-2
Matt McLaughlin had a goal and assist to stake St. Ignatius to a 2-0 lead in what turned into a 2-2 draw with St. Benedict's Prep. The assist made the Notre Dame commit the first player in St. Ignatius history to reach the 40-goal, 40-assist plateau. The following day, St. Ignatius was held to a scoreless draw with state-ranked St. Charles Prep.

Delbarton School Morristown, NJ 7-0-0
Curt Calov had two goals and two assists as Delbarton capped a four-win week by defeating Chaminade (N.Y.) and Regis (N.Y.) at the Delbarton Invitational.
5 (5) Martin Luther King Manhattan, NY 7-0-0
MLK extended its win streak to 67 matches with a 5-1 victory over Parkland (Pa.). Yaya Bakayoko had a goal and two assists and Feren Nunez had three assists. Earlier in the week, Bakayoko had three goals and three assists in the team's 6-2 win over Bard.
6 (6) Medina Medina, OH 9-0-0
Mason Provost scored Medina's goals in a 2-0 win over Brunswick. Later in the week, Steven Samuelson netted a pair of headers to give the Bees a 2-1 win over Wadsworth.
7 (7) Milwaukee Marquette Milwaukee, WI 8-0-0
Luke Thew scored three goals while Gabe Anguill had a goal and one assist in Marquette's 4-0 win over Brookfield Central. The Hilltoppers then handled Wauwatosa East 7-0 as Thew contributed a goal and one assist. Marquette will face Missouri state-ranked Rockhurst Jesuit and Gonzaga (D.C.) this week at the annual Jesuit Classic.
8 (8) Libertyville Libertyville, IL 9-0-0
Libertyville caught a major break last week when its match with Benet Academy was halted less than a minute before halftime due to weather with Benet ahead 2-0. Since the contest did not reach halftime, there will be no official result, leaving Libertyville still undefeated.
9 (9) Lee's Summit Lee's Summit, MO 5-0-0
Joseph Anhugo scored three goals as Lee's Summit cruised to a 7-0 win over St. Joseph Central last week.
10 (10) Troy Athens Troy, MI 11-0-1
Andri Myftari scored twice as Troy Athens defeated Troy 3-0 in the tam's only match last week. The Redhawks cap a three-match week with a showdown against FAB 50-ranked Detroit Catholic Central on Saturday.
11 (11) Cicero Morton Cicero, IL 9-0-2
Edwin Zizumbo scored three goals in Morton's win over former FAB 50-ranked Lyons last week, highlighting a three-win week for the Mustangs.

Holmdel Holmdel, NJ 8-0-0
Mark Walier and Jack Giamanco had multi-goal performances last week as Holmdel won three close matches.

Seton Hall Prep West Orange, NJ 7-0-1
Ryan Spezzacatena scored the lone goal and Tomas Hut had 13 saves as Seton Hall prep edged Pennington School 1-0 last week in a rare meeting between these private school powers.

Brentwood spread out the scoring in comfortable wins over Patchogue-Medford and Longwood last week.

Forest Hills Northern Grand Rapids, MI 11-0-1
Forest Hills Northern started its second rotation through league play, and the results are much tighter this time. The Huskies defeated Lowell 2-1 and Cedar Springs 3-0. The first time through, Forest Hills Northern handled Lowell 4-0 and Cedar Springs 9-1.

Gateway Legacy Christian Florissant, MO 5-0-0
Gateway Legacy has shut out all five of its opponents, which includes a 3-0 win over Missouri defending state champion Christian Brothers. Gateway's next big challenge will be next week at the Go 4 The Goal Fall Classic, where it is in an eight-team group that includes FAB 50 No. 7 Marquette (Wis.), No. 11 Morton (Ill.) and No. 27 Naperville North (Ill.).

Salesianum Wilmington, DE 7-0-0
Junior Ethan Hinds scored the game-winning goal in overtime as Salesianum slipped past St. Augustine (N.J.) on Saturday to stay perfect. Next week, Sallies takes on St. Benedict's (N.J.).
18 Rockwood Summit Fenton, MO 8-0-1
A win over Chaminade and the team's 13-match regular season undefeated run has Summit back in the Top 25 after a one-year hiatus.

DeSmet St. Louis, MO 6-0-1
Max Mundwiller scored the lone goal as DeSmet and defending state champ Christian Brothers played to a 1-1 draw last week.
20 (20) Glastonbury Glastonbury, CT 3-0-0
Alec Hughes scored three goals to carry Glastonbury to a 4-1 win over state-ranked Farmington last week. It is the first major victory of the season for the Tomahawks.
21 (21) River Hill Clarksville, MD 6-0-0
River Hill has shut out all six of its opponents this season. The Hawks retreat to county play for the balance of the regular season.

Olathe West Olathe, KS 5-1-0
The blemish on Olathe West's record is a shootout loss -- a result that would have counted as a tie in other states. Last week, Olathe West rolled up a pair of wins while scoring 14 goals.

Zionsville Zionsville, IN 10-0-0
Zionsville had allowed only one goal all season until wins over Noblesville (4-2) and Avon (2-1) last week. The Eagles have had four matches decided by on or two goals.

Emmaus Emmaus, PA 11-0-0
Emmaus opened the season with a win over Cumberland Valley, and CV just handled perennial North Carolina independent school power Wesleyan Christian 5-1. Emmaus hot start and a revolving door among the top Pennsylvania teams, leaves this program climbing in the rankings. One interesting point of reference, Emmaus defeated Parkland 2-1, and FAB 50 No. 5 Martin Luther King (N.Y.) handled Parkland 5-1.

Edina Edina, MN 12-0-0
Casey Ott and Sammy Presthus has led the Edina offense, accounting for nearly half of the team's goals this season during a 12-0 start.
