FAB 50 High School Soccer Team Rankings

The spring season is comprised of the following states: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Georgia, Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Washington and Wyoming. The rankings are compiled by high school rankings editor Sheldon Shealer.

St. Pius advanced to this week's state semifinals with a 5-1 victory over Northwest Whitfield. For comparison sake, Dalton beat Northwest Whitfield 6-2 on March 20. Next up for St. Pis is 15-1 Woodward Academy.
2 (2) Dalton Dalton, GA 18-0-0
Kiko Rodriguez had two goals and one assist and Dalton used a six-goal second half to bury Lithia Springs 9-0 in a state quarterfinal match. The win extends Dalton's undefeated run to 63 matches.
3 (3) Washington-Liberty Arlington, VA 12-0-1
Abdessamad Belfiroud provided the team's offensive highlight last week, scoring three goals in a 6-1 win over Mount Vernon.

Johnston Johnston, IA 14-0-0
Jack Dreyer and Brett Kerr each scored a goal as Johnston defeated West Des Moines Valley 2-0 to stay perfect. Johnston and undefeated Ankeny Centennial are scheduled to play next week in the regular-season finale for both teams.

Hardin Valley Academy Knoxville, TN 15-0-2
Marshall signee Cameron Schneider scored the clincher as Hardin Valley defeated Farragut 2-0 last week in a battle of SIMA FAB 50-ranked teams. Both teams advance to this week's region tournament.

River Bluff rolled past Socastee 4-1 last week to set up a Lower State final against Wando this week. The match serves as a state semifinal contest. River Bluff and Wando split their regular-season meetings.

Jon Milligan delivered a clutch save and Shep Davis followed with the decisive goal in the 10th round of penalty kicks as Wando edged Irmo following a 2-2 match to advance to this week's Lower State final. Tucker Heffron scored both Wando goals in regulation and converted his penalty kick, as well.

NOTES: Cardinal Newman was pushed to penalty kicks, but emerged as state champion for the third straight year, beating Porter-Gaud following a 1-1 match. The Cardinals won their last 22 matches, which included winning the Nike Palmetto Cup. The team had early losses to Wando and Greenbrier (Ga.). The senior-heavy lineup features three NCAA Division I signees in Christian Kirol (Kentucky), Jack Sicker (Wofford) and Cam Parker (Presbyterian College). Cam Bohannon has committed to Roanoke College.

Three players scored goals as Archbishop Murphy defeated Burlington-Edison 3-0 to set up a shodown this week with state-ranked Shorecrest.

Broken Arrow advanced to this week's state semifinals with a weather-halted 1-0 win over Tulsa Union. The game was ended about 10 minutes into the second half, and since it passed the midway point, the contest was ruled official, allowing Broken Arrow to advance.

After getting upset by Copper Hills early in the week, Alta bounced back with a 3-0 win over Brighton to clinch the Region 3 title and a top seed in the upcoming state playoffs.

Lucas Altman scored both goals as Science Hill defeated Dobyns-Bennett 2-0 for the district title last week. Altman had three goals in an 8-0 district semifinal win over David Crockett.
