Juniors Justin Joseph scored twice and Daniel Welsh added a goal, and Mauldin used a shootout to edge Wade-Hampton following a 3-3 match last week. Mauldin, a Class AAAAA program, is on the opposite side of the playoff draw to Wando and River Bluff and could see one of those teams only in a state final.

Scott Lich scored the game winner in the second half as Science Hill defeated Dobyns-Bennett 1-0 last week to capture the Big 7 Conference title. The win avenged the team's only defeat of the season.
