The winter season includes the following states: Arizona, California, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. The rankings are compiled by high school rankings editor Sheldon Shealer.

Rivera made quite a statement, going 3-0 at The Woodlands Kilt Cup, scoring 11 goals in three matches. Ray Alvarez, Julian Espinoza and Isidro Martinez netted the goals in the team's finale, a 3-2 win over Lake Travis.

Lopez's record still shows at 0-0, but the team went 6-0 in a series of mini-matches at the Brownsville ISD tournament. The semifinals and final — which would have been full matches — were canceled due to poor weather.

Flower Mound shut out all three of its opponents at the North Texas Elite Showcase last week. Flower Mound's first major contest will be next Tuesday against McKinney Boyd.

Sam Houston made quite a splash at the North Texas Elite Showcase, going 3-0 and defeated preseason state favorite McKinney Boyd 2-1 along the way.

Buchanan had a match with Roosevelt suspended last week due to poor air quality. It will go down as a 2-2 draw, the score when the contest was halted early in the second half.

Despite a pair of ties last week for Cathedral, a rash of Texas surprises allows this team to move up in the rankings. The Phantoms travel to Florida this week for the Montverde Academy Soccer Tournament.

American Heritage upended Gulliver Prep last week to vault its way back into the SIMA FAB 50 Top 25.

Yishai Valdez scored the lone goal as South Grand Prairie won the Temple Invitational with a 1-0 win over Waco Midway in the final.

Alejandro Zamarripa scored the deciding goal as North Mesquite edged Marcus 1-0 to win the Jesuit Meinster Cup.
