The winter high school season includes the following states: Arizona, California, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. The rankings are compiled by high school rankings editor Sheldon Shealer.

Season Complete. Montverde Academy Soccer Tournament champion.
School Facts: Private, 750 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Montverde Academy capped a seventh straight undefeated season with a 4-1 victory over Paramount (Calif.) in the MAST final. The program is now riding a 157-match undefeated streak, dating to November 2010. This year's team was led by forward Kizza Edward, who was named MAST MVP after scoring at least one goal in each of the team's three MAST victories. The Eagles defeated Watsonville (Calif.) and St. Paul's (La.) to reach the final. The team was ahead 3-0 within 15 minutes of every MAST match. Joao Lucas Santos and Ohio State signee Josh Jackson made the all-tournament team. Virginia-bound keeper Connor Jones was named Most Outstanding Keeper. So far 11 Montverde Academy seniors have signed with NCAA Division I programs.

Bryan Ibarra netted his 31st goal of the season during Godinez's 2-0 CIF-Southern Section Division 2 quarterfinal win over Corona del Mar last week.

Redlands East Valley Redlands, CA 22-0-1
Cristian Garcia scored the lone goal as Redlands East Valley defeated Edison 1-0 last week to advance to this week's CIF-Southern Section Division 1 semifinals.
4 (4) Strake Jesuit Houston, TX 13-0-3
Diego Sordelli scored both goals in Strake Jesuit's 2-1 win over Seven Lakes, then scored two more in the team's 6-1 win over Morton Ranch.

Folsom Folsom, CA 20-0-0
Spencer Hoyle scored four goals last week -- two in each match -- as Folsom defeated Armijo and Tokay to advance to the section semifinals.

Cypress Bay Weston, FL 21-1-2*
Season Complete. Florida Class 5A state champion.
School Facts: Public, 4,400 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: David Corredor scored an early goal and it was enough to carry Cypress Bay to a 1-0 victory over Lakewood Ranch in the state final. Keeper Sebastian Deckers finished with five saves. The title marked the fifth in the past seven seasons for Cypress Bay, but this one was a more emotional victory for the Lightning, who had dedicated the season to a former teammate who died in a skateboarding accident in September.

McKinney Boyd McKinney, TX 10-0-7
Boyd posted a pair of shutouts last week, but one was a scoreless draw against unranked Wylie. The team bounced back for a 2-0 win over Plano East.

Pleasant Valley Chico, CA 23-0-0*
Season Complete. CIF Northern Section Division I champion.
School Facts: Public, 1,865 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Logan Hall scored twice and Pleasant Valley extended its undefeated run to 86 matches with a 4-2 victory over rival Chico. Pleasant Valley handed Chico all four of its defeats in an 18-4-2 season. Daniel Rodriguez, the team's top scorer, and Dante Jackson scored PV's other goals as it claimed a fourth straight section crown.

Paramount Paramount, CA 20-4-2
After falling behind 2-0, Paramount rallied with three goals in a 12-minute span of the second half en route to a 4-2 victory over Mira Costa in a CIF-Southern Section Division 1 semifinal contest. The Pirate next face El Toro, which stunned favored Cathedral in penalty kicks last week.

The Woodlands handled Lufkin and Montgomery last week to remain perfect against Texas schools this season.

Coronado Coronado, CA 16-1-5
Coronado edged Poway 1-0 in a CIF-San Diego Section Open quarterfinal clash. The Islanders next face fellow Top 25-ranked Oceanside.

Despite a draw with regionally ranked Houston King, North Shore remains in first place in the district standings with a key match with SIMA FAB 50-ranked Channelview upcoming.

Alief Elsik Houston, TX 13-1-1
Brandon Martinez and Saul Amaya each scored twice as Elsik handled Alief Taylor 5-0 in the team's only outing last week.

Cinco Ranch Katy, TX 12-1-3
Just like the Top 25-ranked girls team, Cinco Ranch's boys team posted comfortable wins over Katy Taylor and Katy last week and remains close on the heels of Strake Jesuit in the district race.

Sam Houston Arlington, TX 12-1-2
Bowie just seems to have Sam Houston's number this year. Bowie handed Sam Houston its only onfield defeat in January. Last week, the teams played to a 4-4 draw, but Bowie won in the shootout for the district standings. The Texans recovered with a win over Paschal to end the week.

Duncanville Duncanville, TX 13-1-1
Duncanville capped a two-win week with a 2-0 decision over Irving Nimitz. Rene Martinez and Landon Beach scored for Duncanville.

Grand Prairie Grand Prairie, TX 12-1-3
After eeking out a 3-2 win over rival South Grand Prairie, Grand Prairie routed DeSoto 10-0 to stay close on the heels of Duncanville in the district race.

Northwest Rankin Flowood, MS 23-1-0*
Season Complete. Mississippi Class 6A state champion.
School Facts: Public, 1,450 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Defender Sumner Richardson had a goal and one assist as Northwest Rankin defeated Ocean Springs 2-0 in the state final. The result ended a four-year title run by Madison Central. Northwest Rankin's key win this year was a 2-0 decision over St. Paul's (La.). Interestingly, Northwest Rankin was outshot both in the win over St. Paul's and the in the state final, yet produced where it mattered most - on the scoreboard. The team was led by UAB commit Chandler Shirley.

Christian Lerma scored both goals in Dallas Jesuit's 2-01 win over Skyline last week, which keeps the team just ahead of Coppell in the district standings.

Coppell Coppell, TX 11-2-1
Wyatt Priest netted both Coppell goals in a win over Skyline. Then the team had a field day, getting scoring everywhere for an 8-1 win over Lake Highlands, which entered the match with a winning record. Nick Taylor and Jake Turman factored in the first three goals as the Cowboys easily dug out of a 1-0 deficit.

School Facts: Public, 1,650 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Franco Perez factored in both goals as Seabreeze defeated Merritt Island 2-0 for the program's first state title since 1993. Perez, a junior whose father played professionally in Uruguay, set up an own goal with a throw-in early in the match, and later scored a goal to finish with 23 on the season.

Patrick Burns and Connor netted the goals as Oceanside defeated Torrey Pines 2-1 in a CIF-San Diego Section Open quarterfinal match last week. The Pirates next face SIMA FAB 50 No. 11 Coronado in the semifinals.

St. Augustine edged San Pasqual 2-1 in a CIF-San Diego Section Open quarterfinal. The wins sends the team into a semifinal clash against Point Loma.
24 Monterey Monterey, CA 15-1-2
Louis Sanchez scored twice and Javier Espinal added a goal as Monterey stunned top-seeded Alisal 3-1 in the opening round of the CIF-Central Coast Section Open tournament.

Season Complete. Florida Class 3A state runner-up.
School Facts: Public, 1,500 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Merritt Island's season ended with a 2-0 setback to Daytona Seabreeze in the state final. The Mustangs defeated perennial power Melbourne during the regular season, edged Tampa Jesuit in the playoffs and pinned a rare loss on Immokalee in the state semifinals before running into Seabreeze.
