The winter high school season includes the following states: Arizona, California, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. The rankings are compiled by high school rankings editor Sheldon Shealer.

Season Complete. Undefeated independent school season.
School Facts: Private, 1,200 students, grades K-12.
NOTES: Montverde Academy closed out an eighth straight undefeated season with three victories in the final week. The Eagles are riding a national record 174-match undefeated streak. This year, Montverde Academy fielded four unique varsity lineups, rolling out teams based on the competition. The SIMA Red, juniors and seniors, rolled to lopsided wins over Leon (7-1) and Merritt Island (6-1) and featured Pitt commits Facundo Costantini and Rodrigo Almeida and Butler commit Gabriel Gjergji.

North Shore Houston, TX 13-0-1
North Shore has won back-to-back district titles and a third is looking promising as no league rival has played North Shore closer than three goals.

Alief Elsik Houston, TX 10-0-1
Mayno Linares scored five goals last week. four during the team's 4-1 win over Pearland Dawson and one against George Ranch in a 3-0 victory.

Boyd has yet to allow a goal this year, but back-to-back scoreless draws moves the team down a few spots this week.

Torrey Pines played to a second 1-1 draw this season with Canyon Crest last week. The Falcons bounced back with a 2-1 win over perennial section title challenger Carlsbad.

Servite received an own goal to forge a 1-1 tie with Top 25-ranked Mater Dei last week. The Friars open up CIF-Southern Section Division 1 playoffs as the No. 1 seed in the 32-team field.

Josh Robertson scored the goal as Archbishop Mitty edged Bellarmine Prep to stay undefeated in a strong WCAL field.

Midfielder Quentin Petcu provided Folsom's offensive highlight last week, scoring three goals and adding a pair of assists in wins over Granite Bay and Del Oro. All three of his goals came against Del Oro.

Parker Norris scored six goals last week as San Marcos posted wins over Rancho Buena Vista and Vista.

Nick Cirrito scored to give Mater Dei an early lead over FAB 50 No. 6 Servite in a match that ended in a 1-1 draw last week.

Loyola Marymount signee Kyle Carey scored three goals in the team's regular season finale, giving him a school record 28 goals for the season.

Canyon Crest tied FAB 50 No. 5 Torrey Pines 1-1 and defeated Sage Creek last week to run its undefeated streak to 19 matches.

Santa Barbara Santa Barbara, CA 15-1-2
Santa Barbara's undefeated run ended with a regular-season finale loss to league rival Dos Pueblos. The outcome mattered little as the Dons had clinched the league title and received the league's No. 1 bid in the upcoming CIF-Southern Section playoffs.

Cypress Bay Weston, FL 19-1-0
Gordon Phipps assisted the first goal and scored the second just 18 minutes into the match as Cypress Bay rolled to a 5-0 victory over South Plantation in the regional semifinals. Gustavo Curiel scored twice to lift his season total to 26 goals.

Cal State Fullerton signee Edward Salazar scored in overtime as Cathedral defeated rival Salesian 1-0 to finish a perfect run through league play.

Bowie edged Anderson and Akins last week, marking five one-goal wins in its last six outings. The other result was a tie.

Seven Lakes routed Katy and Katy Taylor by a combined 15-0 margin last week. In the 8-0 win over Katy, eight different Spartans scored goals.

Loyola enters postseason play on an 10-0-1 run since a loss to Servite. The Cubs are always dangerous in the section playoffs and received the No. 3 seed behind Servite and Santa Barbara.

Millikan, which lost a shootout to Loyola in December, is the No. 4 seed in the upcoming CIF Southern Section playoffs.

Palm Harbor University Palm Harbor, FL 18-0-1
For the second time in a week, Palm Harbor University defeated Wiregrass Ranch. On Feb. 2 the Hurricanes won by a goal in the district final, but last week the match went to a shootout before Palm Harbor University emerged with a regional semifinal win.

Season Complete. Arizona Class 6A state champion.
School Facts: Public, 3,050 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: After twice losing to Brophy Prep during the season, Desert Vista pulled off a state final stunner with a 3-0 victory. Parker Lischwe, Jayden Bourg and Max Wennes scored second-half goals to deliver a title for a Thunder team that played most of the season under an interim head coach. Of the team's four losses, two were to Brophy and one to Los Angeles Cathedral (Calif.). Desert Vista put together an 11-game win streak to end the season, which included a state semifinal win over then undefeated Chandler.

Season Complete. Arizona Class 6A state runner-up.
School Facts: Private, all-boys, 1,200 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Brophy's bid to finish No. 1 in the FAB 50 was foiled in a state final loss to Desert Vista. Brophy's stellar season included tournament titles at the Arizona Showcase and the North Texas Elite Showcase. The team was led offensively by UC Santa Barbara signee Carter Clemmensen, who topped 40 goals this season.

School Facts: Public, 3,200 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Chandler lost to eventual state champion Desert Vista in a state semifinals. The Wolves played Brophy Prep to a draw during the regular season. The team was led offensive by Jesus Garza, who finished with 20 goals and 12 assists.

Underclassmen Andrew Motzer and Carson Bien scored the goals as Jesuit defeated Tampa Jefferson 2-0 in the region semifinals. Jesuit next faces perennial state power Merritt Island in the regional final with a berth in the state semifinals on the line.

University defeated Beckman and tied Woodbridge to close out an undefeated league showing. The Trojans advance to the section playoffs and will next take on Long Beach Poly.
