FAB 50 High School Soccer Team Rankings

The winter high school season includes the following states: Arizona, California, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. The rankings are compiled by high school rankings editor Sheldon Shealer.

Brophy Prep Phoenix, AZ 17-0-1
Brophy Prep is back at FAB 50 No. 1 for the second time this season. Last week the Broncos handled perennial state power Hamilton 5-2 and beat another annual title challenger in Kofa 5-1. UC Santa Barbara commit Carter Clemmensen scored five of the team's 10 goals.

Montverde Academy Montverde, FL 10-0-2
Montverde Academy was idle last week as its players participated in the FC MAST club event. The high school team will be back in action this week. Two of the team's seniors, Rodrigo Almeida and Facundo Costantini, recently verbally committed to Pittsburgh.

McKinney Boyd McKinney, TX 6-0-0
David Ortiz and Nico Neumann scored the goals as McKinney Boyd topped Bishop Lynch 2-0 to win the Jesuit Meinster Tournament last week.

Torrey Pines San Diego, CA 12-0-1
Torrey Pines was held to a 1-1 draw with San Pasqual, a result that bumped the Falcons from No. 1 and moved San Pasqual into the Top 10.

Sevite's three-win week was highlighted by a 1-0 victory over FAB 50 No. 24 Santa Margarita. Kyle Sinclair scored the winning goal and keeper Nicholas Pavez had six saves while recording the shutout.
6 (6) North Shore Houston, TX 7-0-0
North Shore edged Langham Creek 2-1 on Saturday to win the CCISD Tournament, the team's second perfect tournament showing of the season.
7 (7) Alief Elsik Houston, TX 6-0-0
Bryan Nunez provided Elsik's offensive highlight last week, scoring three goals in a 7-0 victory over Davis. Elsik went 3-0 at the Aldine Showcase to remain perfect.

Fleming Island Orange Park, FL 13-0-1
Lucas Hauth and Reed Davis combined for eight goals in the team's 8-0 win over Orange Park before handling Bartram Trail 5-0 last week.

Santa Barbara Santa Barbara, CA 10-0-2
Santa Barbara was idle last week.
10 San Pasqual Escondido, CA 9-1-1
San Pasqual makes a major jump in this week's rankings following a draw with former FAB 50 No. 1 Torrey Pines. The only blemishes on the team's schedule is the draw and a loss to FAB 50 No. 5 Servite. The Golden Eagles clash with FAB 50 No. 22 La Costa Canyon this week.
11 Seven Lakes Katy, TX 6-0-1
Other than a 1-1 draw with No. 14 Reagan, Seven Lakes has won every match by at least three goals. The Spartans rolled up 15 goals in three matches last week.

Kevin Grewal scored six of the team's eight goals last week as Folsom stayed undefeated with wins over Woodcreek and Granite Bay.

Mater Dei Santa Ana, CA 8-1-4
Despite a pair of ties last week, Mater Dei remains in second place in a strong Trinity League race that features tree FAB 50 Top 25 programs.
14 San Antonio Reagan San Antonio, TX 5-1-1
Michael Morell scored a pair of goals as Reagan stunned Sam Houston 3-1 last week at the Austin Lake Travis Showcase. The Rattlers took a little edge off the big win with a loss to the host, but that seems fitting for the way Texas has played out in the early going with few teams really distancing themselves from the pack.

For the second straight weekend, Sam Houston went 2-1 at a tournament. This past week, the team defeated Austin Westlake and had no problem routing Strake Jesuit, but lost to San Antonio Reagan.

Marcus went 2-0-1 at the Lake Travis Showcase. Jack Coad continues to be an offensive force for the Marauders.

Sophomore standout Dante Jackson scored six goals last week, bringing his season total to 19, as Pleasant Valley won a pair of one-sided matches.

Duncanville ended up winning its Duncanville Tournament despite a first-round tie with Birdville.
19 (19) St. Ignatius San Francisco, CA 8-0-3
St. Ignatius holds an early lead in the WCAL over rivals Archbishop Mitty and Bellarmine College. The WCAL is one of the strongest leagues in California, and in addition to the above mentioned, Sacred Heart Cathedral and Serra are a combined 14-3-3, giving the eight-team league five true league title contenders.

Marin Academy eeked out a pair of one-goal wins last week. This week the Wildcats take on a very challenging San Francisco University side that has wins over Sacred Heart Cathedral and Jesuit.

Archbishop Mitty San Jose, CA 6-0-4
Mitty tied FAB 50 No. 19 St. Ignatius and surprisingly strong Sacred Heart Cathedral last week. The team's match this week against Bellarmine will be important for league standing and national ranking purposes.

The Mavericks returned from winter break with a 4-3 win over Escondido. Next up is a clash with San Pasqual.

San Marcos increased its undefeated streak to 11 with wins over Scripp Ranch, Rancho Bernardo and Carlsbad last week.
