FAB 50 High School Soccer Team Rankings

The fall season includes the following states: California (fall), Connecticut, D.C., Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Virginia (private), Washington, West Virginia.
The rankings are compiled by high school rankings editor Sheldon Shealer.

1 (1) McDonogh School Owings Mills, MD 15-0-0
Season Complete. Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland champion.
School Facts: Private, 1,300 students, grades K-12.
NOTES: It took a bit longer than expected, but McDonogh capped a perfect season with a shootout victory over Notre Dame Prep after a 0-0 match. North Carolina State commit Kia Rankin converted the deciding penalty kick. North Carolina commit Bridgette Andrzewjwski, Danni Steigerwald and Louisville commit Gaby Vincent also converted PKs. McDonogh defeated teams from three states, highlighted by a 5-0 win over perennial New Jersey prep power Pennington Prep. The Eagles outscored their opponents 67-4 on the season. McDonogh has now won four of the last five IAAM titles. In addition to the above listed players, Marcela Robinson has committed to La Salle and at least four other starting underclassmen are expected to verbally commit to NCAA Division I schools in the near future.
2 (2) Immaculate Heart Academy Twp. of Washington, NJ 22-0-0
Season Complete. New Jersey Non-Public A state champion.
School Facts: Private, all-girls, 850 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Sacred Heart commit Alexandria Mesropyan converted a penalty kick in the closing minutes of the second overtime to lift IHA to a 1-0 win over Holy Cross in the state final. The Angels delivered a stellar season that included a win over Northern Highlands, ending Northern Highlands' 88-match undefeated streak, and a 1-0 victory over Massapequa (N.Y.). Senior keeper Taylor Lupi has been selected to compete in the High School Girls All-American Game next month in North Carolina.
3 (3) Maria Carrillo Santa Rosa, CA 22-0-1
Season Complete. California North Coast Section Division I champion.
School Facts: Public, 1,650 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Kelsi Avana and Sydney Rickett scored the goals and senior defender Brianne Parsons, who is committed to Oregon, anchored the defense as Maria Carrillo won its fourth straight section title with a 2-0 win over Montgomery. The victory pushed Maria Carrillo's undefeated run to an active national-best 72 matches. Maria Carrillo's lineup features junior Maddy Gonzales, who is committed to Santa Clara.
4 (4) Walsh Jesuit Cuyahoga Falls, OH 22-0-1
Season Complete. Ohio Division I state champion.
School Facts: Private, 1,300 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Sofia Rossi had two goals and one assist and Juli Knapp added a goal and two assists as Walsh Jesuit routed Dublin Coffman 4-1 in the state final, the program's third straight crown. Walsh Jesuit had defeated Dublin Coffman 1-0 earlier in the season. Walsh won the Division II title in 2012 and the Division I title in 2013. The team's undefeated streak stands at 64 matches. Senior Halle Stelbasky was named to the Ohio Division I all-state team.
5 (5) Northern Highlands Allendale, NJ 22-1-0
Season Complete. New Jersey Group 3 state champion.
School Facts: Public, 1,450 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Virginia-bound Hana Kerner scored the first three goals as Northern Highlands rolled over Colts Neck 4-0 to claim a fourth straight state title. Georgetown commit Casey Richards netted the fourth goal. Northern Highlands' lone loss was to Immaculate Heart Academy.
6 (6) St. Anthony's Melville, NY 18-0-1
Season Complete. New York Catholic High School Athletic Association state champion.
School Facts: Private, 2,625 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Sabrina Cristodero had a goal and two assists as St. Anthony's rolled to a 6-0 win over Christ the King in the state final, sending coach Dave Prutting into retirement after a 27-year career that was witness to 21 CHSAA state titles. Prutting, who is 77, retires with a career coaching record of 437-46-19.
7 (7) Massapequa Massapequa, NY 17-1-3
Season Complete. New York Class AA state champion.
School Facts: Public, 2,000 students, grades 10-12.
NOTES: Meghan McCabe scored the lone goal and Massapequa's defense shutout high-powered North Rockland for a 1-0 state final victory. The victory made Massapequa only the second school to win back-to-back Class AA state titles in New York.
8 (8) Eagan Eagan, MN 21-0-1
Season Complete. Minnesota Class AA state champion.
School Facts: Public, 2,400 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: US Youth National team player Jade King scored the lone goal as Eagan capped an undefeated season with a 1-0 win over Eden Prairie. The win marked Eagan's first state title since 1996. Head coach Turk Ozturk, who led Lakeville North to a Class AA state runner-up finish last year, took over the Eagan program this past summer.
9 (9) Walt Whitman Bethesda, MD 17-0-0
Season Complete. Maryland Class 4A state champion.
School Facts: Public, 1,900 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Emma Anderson scored the lone goal as Walt Whitman repeated as state champion with a 1-0 win over Howard, and did one better in 2014 — going perfect. Last year's 17-1-1, senior-heavy squad finished No. 10 in the SIMA FAB 50. During the regular season, Whitman defeated perennial FAB 50-ranked Good Counsel for the second straight season. Senior Clare Severe has committed to Lehigh.
10 (10) Fishers Fishers, IN 16-1-6
Season Complete. Indiana Class AA state champion.
School Facts: Public, 2,200 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Freshman Gretchen Mills scored the lone goal as Fishers stunned Carmel 1-0 for the program's first state title. Fishers was the runner-up to Avon last year. Fishers' lone loss was to city rival Hamilton Southeastern, which it avenged in the postseason. In addition, Fishers tied Carmel, had a win and a draw with Noblesville, and a draw with St. Ursula Academy (Ohio). Overall, Fishers went 3-1-5 against teams that appeared in the SIMA FAB 50 this season.
11 (11) Carmel Carmel, IN 18-2-3
Season Complete. Indiana Class AA state runner-up.
School Facts: Public, 4,400 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Carmel's bid for a 10th state title since Indiana sanctioned the sport in 1994 was denied in a 1-0 setback to Fishers. Carmel went 6-2-2 against teams that appeared in the SIMA FAB 50 this season. Seniors Amanda Shaw (Missouri) and Ryan Kokoska (UC Santa Barbara) have committed to NCAA Division I programs.
12 (12) Brebeuf Jesuit Indianapolis, IN 22-1-0
Season Complete. Indiana Class AA region runner-up.
School Facts: Private, 775 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Brebeuf Jesuit's perfect run ended with a 3-1 loss to Carmel in the region final. That result came just days after Brebeuf Jesuit defeated Avon in the region semifinal. Michigan commit Reilly Martin ended the season with 29 goals and 27 assists. Brebeuf Jesuit outscored its opponents 115-18, and posted key wins over Avon, Center Grove, Zionsville, Mount Notre Dame (Ohio) and Notre Dame Academy (Ky.).
13 (13) Somers Lincolndale, NY 22-0-0
Season Complete. New York Class A state champion.
School Facts: Public, 1,200 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Hannon Eberts, Melinda Couzis and Melissa Righetti scored the goals -- and all three were set up by Ciara Ostrander — as Somers defeated perennial Class A state power South Side 3-1 in the final.
14 (14) Villa Joseph Marie Holland, PA 22-1-0
Season Complete. Pennsylvania Class AA state champion.
School Facts: Private, all-girls, 400 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Casey Kilchrist scored on an assist from league MVP Murphy Agnew to lead Villa Joseph Marie to a 1-0 state title win over Villa Maria. VJM won its last 16 matches and shut out every playoff opponent en route to the program's 10th state title.
15 (15) Clarksville Clarksville, TN 24-0-3
Season Complete. Tennessee Class AAA state champion.
School Facts: Public, 1,400 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Kelsey Greiff, Salera Jordan and Ella Baggett scored as Clarksville claimed the program's first state title with a 3-1 win over Germantown Houston. The result ended a 46-match undefeated run for Houston. Clarksville ended the season with a 19-match win streak. Jeff Jordan, the coach of Clarksville, has coached a number of the players since elementary school.
16 (16) West Springfield West Springfield, MA 21-0-2
Season Complete. Massachusetts Division I state champion.
School Facts: Public, 1,200 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Kathryn O'Brien scored the lone goal in overtime as West Springfield edged FAB 50-ranked Whitman-Hanson 1-0 in overtime to secure the program's first state title.

Montclair Montclair, NJ 22-1-0
Season Complete. New Jersey Group 4 state champion.
School Facts: Public, 1,950 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Freshmen Fiona Tubiana and Rebecca Van Siclen scored the goals as Montclair edged Hunterdon Central 2-1 for the program's first state title. In the semifinals, senior Samantha Masur scored both goals as the team rallied for a 2-1 win in overtime over Top 25-ranked Scotch Plains.
18 (18) Glastonbury Glastonbury, CT 22-1-0
Season Complete. Connecticut Class LL state champion.
School Facts: Public, 2,200 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Maddy Lamagna scored the winning goal early in overtime as Glastonbury edged Fairfield Warde 2-1 in the final. The victory gave Glastonbury's senior class their second state title, and they graduate having made three state final appearances.
19 (19) Exeter Exeter, NH 19-0-0
Season Complete. New Hampshire Division I state champion.
School Facts: Public, 1,700 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Casey Estey scored the first two goals as Exeter handled Bedford 3-0 in the state final, giving Exeter its fifth state title in six seasons and second undefeated season in three years. Bedford upset then undefeated Exeter in last year's state final.

Season Complete. Ohio Division II state champion.
School Facts: Private, 700 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Junior Emma Heise scored twice and senior Meghan Martella added the clincher as McNicholas handled Archbishop Hoban 3-0 in the state final. NCAA Division I prospect Sophie Gorman, a sophomore, was named to the Ohio coaches Division II first-team all-state squad.

Central Valley Spokane Valley, WA 20-2-0
Season Complete. Washington Division I state champion.
School Facts: Public, 1,950 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Santa Clara commit Kelsey Turnbow scored four goals as Central Valley defeated Jackson 5-2 in the state final. The victory marked a second straight state title for Central Valley.

Season Complete. Tennessee Class AAA state runner-up.
School Facts: Public, 1,700 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Houston couldn't dig out of an early deficit and fell to Clarksville 3-1 in the state final, ending a undefeated string of 46 matches.

School Facts: Public, 2,700 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Arbor View turned in one of the most dominating state tournament appearances ever, beating previously undefeated Douglas 5-1 in the semifinals and then ripping Coronado 6-0 in the state final. The results gave Arbor View a third straight state title.

Season Complete. New Jersey Group 4 state semifinalist.
School Facts: Public, 1,500 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Tori Baliatico scored to give Scotch Plains a 1-0 lead with 20 minutes remaining, but Montclair rallied for a 2-1 state semifinal victory.

Season Complete. New Mexico Class 6A state champion.
School Facts: Public, 1,950 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Jordyn Lacy and Payton Balduini scored first-half goals to lead La Cueva to a 2-0 state final win over Rio Rancho. La Cueva has won 15 state titles since the school opened in 1986.
