FAB 50 High School Soccer Team Rankings

The fall season includes the following states: California (fall sections only), Connecticut, D.C., Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Virginia (private), Washington, West Virginia.

The rankings are compiled by high school rankings editor Sheldon Shealer.

1 (1) Northern Highlands Allendale, NJ 22-0-0
Amanda Pook and Ariel Somple scored the goals as Northern Highlands defeated Wayne Valley to advance to this week's state semifinals. Another state title will secure a SIMA FAB 50 No. 1 finish for the Highlanders, which has wins over New Jersey Non-Public A champ Immaculate Heart and California North Coast Section Division I champ Maria Carrillo.
2 (2) McDonogh School Owings Mills, MD 12-0-0*
Season Complete. Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference Champion.
School Facts: Private, 1,350 students, grades K-12.
NOTES: North Carolina State commit Kia Rankin scored twice to spark McDonogh to a 4-0 victory over Notre Dame Prep in the IAAM final, running the team's win streak to 34 matches. The Eagles averaged 6.6 goals per match. McDonogh's key wins were over Magnificat (Ohio), Immaculate Heart Academy (N.J.) and Pennington School (N.J.) -- all teams that have appeared in the SIMA FAB 50 -- by a combined 16-2 margin. North Carolina commit Bridgette Andrzejewski finished her high school career with 99 goals. Senior keeper Lindsey Clark, a Campbell commit, anchored the defense that allowed five goals on the season.
3 (3) Davis Kaysville, UT 20-0-0*
Season Complete. Utah Class 5A state champion.
School Facts: Public, 2,375 students, grades 10-12.
NOTES: Junior midfielder and BYU commit Mikayla Colohan scored on an assist from sophomore and fellow BYU commit Olivia Wade as Davis capped a perfect season with a 1-0 state final win over Weber. The win marked a second straight state title for Davis and ran the program's win streak to 24 matches.
4 (4) Walsh Jesuit Cuyahoga Falls, OH 21-0-1*
Season Complete. Ohio Division I state champion.
School Facts: Private, 1,300 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Wake Forest-bound junior Sofia Rossi scored the lone goal as Walsh Jesuit capped a fourth straight undefeated season with a 1-0 state final win over Loveland. Walsh Jesuit is 84-0-7 over the last four years. In the state semifinals, Walsh Jesuit handed SIMA FAB 50-ranked Medina its only loss of the season in a 2-1 decision where Rossi scored both goals.
5 (5) Houston Germantown, TN 22-0-0*
Season Complete. Tennessee Class AAA state champion.
School Facts: Public, 1,785 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Jenna Kemp, Paola Ellis and Jillian Hildreth netted the goals as Houston's depth was on full display in a one-sided, 3-0 win over Clarksville in a rematch of last year's state final. The win marked the seventh state title for Houston. Senior Gabby Little and Ellis, a junior, have committed to Ole Miss. Seniors Taylor White, a defender, and Mary Parker Powell, a goalkeeper, are bound for Austin Peay. Senior Anna Dellarosa has committed to Christian Brothers University.
6 (6) Maria Carrillo Santa Rosa, CA 20-2-0*
Season Complete. California North Coast Section Division I champion.
School Facts: Public, 1,800 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Keeper Claire Howard (Montana) came up with several crucial saves as Maria Carrillo captured a fifth straight section title with a 2-0 victory over rival Montgomery. The Pumas join Montgomery (1990-1994) as the only programs to ever win five in NCS fall titles in a row. Ali King and Brooke Dunbar (Eastern Washington) scored the team's goals as the Pumas defeated Montgomery for the third time this season after losing to the Vikings early in the season. Maria Carrillo had a win over New Jersey Non-Public A state champion Immaculate Heart and lost a match to Northern Highlands (N.J.). Santa Clara-bound Maddy Gonzalez is expected to be named the All-Empire Player of the Year for the third straight season.
7 (7) Glastonbury Glastonbury, CT 21-0-0
Sabrina Glaser and Mara Cosentino combined for all four goals as Glastonbury cruised past Greenwich 4-0 and into this week's state semifinals. The Tomahawks are aiming for a second straight state title and third since 2011.
8 (8) Ridge Basking Ridge, NJ 22-0-0
Amanda Cox, Julia Lindsey and Chrissy Weyrauch scored the goals to lead Ridge to a 3-1 win over Bridgewater-Raritan and into this week's state semifinals against Montclair.
9 (9) Colts Neck Colts Neck, NJ 22-0-1
Bridgette King, Nicole Loehle and Amanda Visco scored the goals as Frankie Tagliaferri served up a pair of assists in Colts Neck's 3-0 win over Toms River East. Colts Neck next faces Toms River South in the state semifinals with a possible state final clash with top-ranked Northern Highlands if both survive the semifinal round.

Central Bucks East Doylestown, PA 21-0-1
Emma Loving was creditted with the game-winning goal as Central Bucks East defeated Council Rock North 2-0 in the state quarterfinals last week. The win sets up a state semifinal showdown with Cumberland Valley on Tuesday.

Medina Medina, OH 18-1-3*
Season Complete. Ohio Division I state semifinalist.
School Facts: Public, 2,050 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Medina conceded a late goal in a 2-1 state semifinal loss to Walsh Jesuit, ending the team's undefeated season. Janiece Joyner scored the goal for the Bees. Medina handed Perryburg its only loss of the season and defeated Indiana power Fishers.

Brebeuf Jesuit Indianapolis, IN 22-2-1*
Season Complete. Indiana Class 2A state champion.
School Facts: Private, 800 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Audrey Heile scored the game-winning goal with five minutes left as Brebeuf Jesuit rallied for a 2-1 victory over Penn in the state final. The Braves fell behind 1-0 a minute into the match before Hallie Pearson, with an assist from Michigan commit Alia Martin, tied the match midway through the second half.

Cumberland Valley Mechanicsburg, PA 24-1-0
Mallory Johnson scored with two minutes remaining as Cumberland Valley edged Spring-Ford for the second time this season, this time with the 1-0 win sending the Eagles to the state semifinals. Earlier in the week, Cumberland Valley rallied for an epic 4-3 win over Parkland in a Round of 16 match where CV trailed 3-0 in the first half. North Carolina commit Rachael Dorwart scored the team's third and fourth goals -- the last one with nine seconds left in regulation.

Norwin Irwin, PA 24-0-0
Lexy Kendro scored twice as Norwin handled Dowingtown West 3-0 in a state quarterfinal match. Norwin next faces Upper St. Clair in the state semifinals in a rematch of the WPIAL final. The winner will advance to face either Central Bucks East or Cumberland Valley.

Season Complete. Oregon Class 5A state champion.
School Facts: Public, 1,400 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Meghan Day and Cristina Edwards each scored twice and Summit netted six second-half goals in a staggering 7-0 state final win over La Salle Prep. The win pushed Summit's undefeated run to 34 matches and marked a fourth straight state title.

Seattle Prep Seattle, WA 20-0-1
Taylor Nielsen scored twice and Sophie Hirst recorded three assists as Seattle prep rolled to a 4-1 win over Bishop Blanchet. The win sends Seattle Academy into this week's state semifinals.

Penn Mishawaka, IN 21-1-2*
Season Complete. Indiana Class 2A state runner-up.
School Facts: Public, 3,400 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Florida State commit Kristina Lynch, a sophomore, scored 61 seconds into the match, but Penn was unable to hold the lead in the second half in a 2-1 state final loss to Brebeuf Jesuit. For the season, Penn outscored its opponents 121-6. Lynch had a team-high 27 goals.

Massapequa Massapequa, NY 19-1-1*
Season Complete. New York Class AA state champion.
School Facts: Public, 2,000 students, grades 10-12.
NOTES: Mikayla Pugliese tied the match at 1, 48 seconds later Illinois commit Hope Breslin gave the Chiefs the lead and in the closing minutes Breslin added an insurance goal as Massapequa captured a third straight Class AA state title with a 3-1 win over Baldwinsville.

Perrysburg Perrysburg, OH 18-1-1*
Season Complete. Ohio Division I region runner-up.
School Facts: Public, 1,300 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Perrysburg's undefeated season came to an end with a 2-1 loss to Medina in the region final. Medina scored the winner with 11 seconds left in regulation. Kristina DeMarco scored Perrysburg's goal.

Montgomery Santa Rosa, CA 20-3-0*
Season Complete. CIF North Coast Section runner-up.
School Facts: Public, 1,800 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: All three of Montgomery's losses were to rival and SIMA FAB 50 No. 6 Maria Carrillo, including a 2-0 setback in the section final. Montgomery did beat Maria Carrillo early in the season, which vaulted the team into the Top 5 for a short time. This year's team was led by senior and Virginia commit Taylor Ziemer.

Season Complete. Minnesota Class AA state champion.
School Facts: Public, 2,100 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Freshman Megan Plaschko came up with a diving save to end the shootout and give Eagan a second straight state title with a victory over Eden Prairie. The match was scoreless through regulation and overtime.

Season Complete. New York Catholic High School Athletic Association Class AA state champion.
School Facts: Private, 2,625 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Kayla Arestivo started the rally, Francesca Venezia provided the match-winning goal and Miranda Ozimek and Venezia tacked on insurance scored in a 4-1 state final win over Christ the King. For St. Anthony's, it was the program's second straight state title and first under coach Susan Alber, who took over the program for retired Dave Prutting.

Zionsville Zionsville, IN 11-3-7*
Season Complete. Indiana Class 2A region runner-up.
School Facts: Public, 1,800 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: After beating Brebeuf Jesuit in the regular season, Zionsville fell to Brebeuf in the playoffs, ending a run that included an upset win over highly ranked Carmel. Sophomores Erin Patterson and Ellie Lewis led the team in scoring, making Eagles a favorite in 2016.

Carmel Carmel, IN 15-1-2*
Season Complete. Indiana Class 2A section runner-up.
School Facts: Public, 4,400 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Carmel suffered its only loss of the season in a 1-0 postseason setback to rival Zionsville. Carmel had a regular-season win over eventual state champion Brebeuf Jesuit. The team was led by seniors Chandler Backes (Western Kentucky), Macy Miller (Indiana) and goalkeeper Celene Funke.

Arbor View Las Vegas, NV 21-1-1*
Season Complete. Nevada Division I state champion.
School Facts: Public, 2,800 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Sierra Vicente scored the first goal and assisted the second as Arbor View defeated Coronado 2-0 to claim its fourth straight state title. In the semifinals, Arbor View netted seven goals, three of them assisted by Vicente. Haylee Niemann recorded her 18th shutout of the season in the state title win. Arbor View lost to Coronado early in the season, but bounced back to win the later two meetings as these programs were clearly the class of the state this year.
