1 Maria Carrillo Santa Rosa, CA 0-0-0
In what figures to be Maria Carrillo's final year as a fall program, the team starts the year at No. 1. The Pumas are riding a 72-match undefeated streak and returns Santa Clara commit Maddy Gonzalez, among a host of others. Claire Howard, Brooke Dunbar, Sydney Rickert and Allison King are back, and they joined with Gonzalez to help carry Santa Rosa to the ECNL championships this past summer. Maria Carrillo and No. 2 Immaculate Heart Academy (N.J.) clash on Sept. 4, in New Jersey.
2 Immaculate Heart Academy Twp. of Washington, NJ 0-0-0
IHA is coming off a stellar 2014 campaign, and has a bit more firepower returning than McDonogh and Walsh Jesuit -- who are also coming off undefeated seasons. Sophomore Rebecca Jarrett is one of the nation's top prospects. Midfielder Sophia Gulati has committed to Princeton.
3 McDonogh School Owings Mills, MD 0-0-0
Led by North Carolina commit Bridgette Andrzejewski, the Eagles are in the running to defend its SIMA FAB 50 No. 1 ranking. McDonogh faces No. 2 Immaculate Heart Academy (N.J.) in late September in a match with major national ranking implications. In addition to the returning players, McDonogh has added junior Kori Locksley, a Youth National Team member whose older brother is a college football player at Texas and whose father is the offensive coordinator at the University of Maryland football program.
4 Walsh Jesuit Cuyahoga Falls, OH 0-0-0
Sofia Rossi, a junior and Wake Forest commit, highlights a Walsh Jesuit lineup that is aiming for a fourth straight state title. Walsh Jesuit is riding a 64-match undefeated streak.
5 Northern Highlands Allendale, NJ 0-0-0
Despite the graduation of Hana Kerner, the well is far from empty for Northern Highlands. This year's squad will be led by Georgetown commit Casey Richard and Fordham commit Morgan Busacca. Northern Highlands will be playing host to top-ranked Maria Carrillo (Calif.) on Sept. 5.
6 Medina Medina, OH 0-0-0
Medina, at full strength this summer, was called by a former high school coaching rival one of the best high school teams ever assembled in Northern Ohio. Six players have committed to NCAA Division I programs: Olivia Sency and Sydney Leckie to Ohio University, Bri Caccavale to Lipscomb, Lilly Jackson to Valparaiso, Liz Ash to Canisius and Katherine Phillips to Robert Morris. The team has early season matches against Fishers (Ind.) and Noblesville (Ind.) at the Lady Eagle Invitational in Zionsville, Ind.
7 St. Anthony's Melville, NY 0-0-0
Led by Boston College commit Francesca Venezia and Lehigh commit Kayla Arestivo, St. Anthony's looks to extend its dynasty -- even as legendary coach Dave Prutting has retired.
8 Montclair Montclair, NJ 0-0-0
Junior Jillian Jennings, a Maryland commit, highlights the returners for this defending state champion.
9 Fishers Fishers, IN 0-0-0
Fishers is the defending state champion, and with three all-district honorees returning, gets the nod as preseason favorites. Among the returners are seniors Brady Riley, Hannah Sullivan and Kennedy Turner. Fishers has an early test with Medina (Ohio).
10 Montgomery Santa Rosa, CA 0-0-0
If there's any team in California who can give Maria Carrillo a run, it's city rival Montgomery, led by Virginia commit Taylor Ziemer. Montgomery has gone 40-7 over the last two years with six of those losses coming to Maria Carrillo.
11 Colts Neck Colts Neck, NJ 0-0-0
Colts Neck could prove to be this year's "break-through" team. The squad returns a lineup that features Penn State commit Frankie Tagliaferri, Rutgers commit Amanda Visco and Bucknell commit Alison Russo.
12 Good Counsel Olney, MD 0-0-0
Vanderbilt commit Nia Dorsey and Villanova commit Amanda Wilson led the lineup for the defending Washington Catholic Athletic Conference champions. The Falcons won the WCAC title with only six seniors on the roster last year.
13 Carmel Carmel, IN 0-0-0
Carmel is always the "safe bet" in Indiana. The perennial state title challengers were upset in last year's final, but are again considered a co-frontrunner with Fishers. Western Kentucky commit Chandler Backes and fellow defender Anna Denkmann are the team's top returners.
14 Dublin Coffman Dublin, OH 0-0-0
Hannah Lehmkuhl helped Dublin Coffman to a state runner-up finish in 2014, and she's back as the Shamrocks aim for another high finish in 2015. Dublin Coffman competes in the Lady Eagle Invitational in Zionsville, Ind., where it will face Carmel (Ind.) in a key regional matchup.
15 Sacred Heart Academy Louisville, KY 0-0-0
All-state honorees Cat Fell and junior Sarah Stodghill return after earning All-State honors in 2014.
16 Central Valley Spokane Valley, WA 0-0-0
After years of Seattle-area dominance, Central Valley -- from Spokane -- has rolled off back-to-back large-school state titles. The team will have to find a new top scorer as Santa Clara commit Kelsey Turnbow, a junior, has relocated to Arizona and is now attending Pinnacle High School.
17 Villa Joseph Marie Holland, PA 0-0-0
Harvard commit Murphy Agnew, a junior, is the key returner for Villa Joseph Marie. She scored 36 goals with 16 assists last season for the Jems, helping the team to a Class AA state title.
18 Glastonbury Glastonbury, CT 0-0-0

19 Houston Germantown, TN 0-0-0
Houston was upset in last year's state final, bringing an end to a 44-match undefeated run. This year's team figures to once again be in the state title running. Gabby Little and Paola Ellis return after earning all-state honors in 2014.
20 Noblesville Noblesville, IN 0-0-0
Iowa commit Claire Graves and Butler commit Taylor Crowe, a junior, are both returning after earning first-team all-district honors last year as underclassmen. Add in junior Delaney Riester, and Noblesville appears to have a team that can challenge Fishers for District 3 supremacy.
21 Eagan Eagan, MN 0-0-0
Seniors Jade King and Taylor Kenealy return for the defending state champions after earning first-team all-state honors last year. Eagan is coming off a 21-0-1 season.
22 St. Ursula Academy Cincinnati, OH 0-0-0
There are some rumblings that many of Cincinnati's top club players might not return for high school soccer this fall. If so, that will change the projections quite drastically. But, if St. Ursula holds on to its top players, this team has a chance to make a state title run. St. Ursula's lineup could feature Tennessee commit Mary Alice Vignola and SLUH commit Olivia Silverman.
23 Ravenwood Brentwood, TN 0-0-0
Karlie Paschal, a junior and Youth National Team member who has committed to Duke, is projected to return for Ravenwood, which is coming off an 18-3 season.
24 Owensboro Catholic Owensboro, KY 0-0-0
Owensboro Catholic has a breakout season in 2014, going 27-2. Considering all four players who received all-state honors -- three on the West first team -- are all returning, the Aces could be in the running for a high ranking in 2015. The key returners are Bellarmine commit Annabel Moore, along with seniors Sarah Haleman and Caroline Hayden and sophomore Ambere Barnett.
25 Davis Kaysville, UT 0-0-0
Utah commits Ireland Dunn and Haylee Cacciacarne and junior Mikayla Colohan are returning for the defending state champions. All three players earned Dessert News first-team Class 5A all-state honors in 2014.
