FAB 50 High School Soccer Team Rankings

The fall season includes the following states: California (fall section only), Connecticut, D.C., Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Virginia (private), Washington, West Virginia.

The rankings are compiled by high school rankings editor Sheldon Shealer.

Season Complete. Utah Class 5A state champion.
School Facts: Public, 2,375 students, grades 10-12.
NOTES: BYU commits Mikayla Colohan and junior Olivia Wade scored the goals as Davis capped a second straight perfect season with its third straight state title in a 2-1 victory over SIMA FAB 50-ranked Fremont. Davis is riding a state record 44-match win streak. The Darts, which finished No. 2 in the FAB 50 last year following a 20-0 season and outscoring opponents 109-8, took it a step further this year by outscoring foes 120-8.

Season Complete. Indiana Class 2A state champion.
School Facts: Public, 3,400 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Florida State commit Kristina Lynch, a junior, had a goal and one assist as Penn defeated Brebeuf Jesuit 2-0 in a state final rematch from 2015. Maya Lacognato, a sophomore, scored the first goal before Lynch sealed the outcome later in the second half to deliver Penn its first-ever state title. Senior Sommer Domal had four key saves to earn the shutout. Lynch finished the season with 38 goals and 26 assists (102 points). WATCH THE STATE FINAL UNDER THE "ON DEMAND" TAB. Underclassmen accounted for 101 of Penn's 123 goals this season, and if all return the Kingsmen will be a preseason favorite in the state, region and SIMA FAB 50 rankings in 2017.

Parkland Allentown, PA 24-0-0
Rachel Medlar scored twice as Parkland defeated Stroudsburg 3-1 in the District 11 final last week, stretching the team's undefeated run to 46 matches against District 11 opponents. Parkland advances to the state tournament where it could meet Neshaminy in the state semifinals in both teams get through the first two rounds.

Glastonbury Glastonbury, CT 16-0-0
Sammie Riggott had a goal and two assists as Glastonbury closed out a perfect regular season with a 5-0 victory over Simsbury. The Class LL state tournament, expected to start this week, was delayed due to a seeding error that required the state to re-seed the event. Glastonbury will remain the No. 1 seed in the tournament.

Central Catholic Lawrence, MA 18-0-0
Central Catholic, after a perfect regular season, received a first-round bye and next plays Medford in the MIAA North Division 1 quarterfinals.

Walsh Jesuit Cuyahoga Falls, OH 20-1-0
Walsh Jesuit pinned the first loss on Strongsville in a 2-1 contest, then cruised to a 4-0 victory over Mayfield to advance to this week's state semifinals. Olivia Darrow scored twice in the win over Mayfield. The Warriors next face Toledo Notre Dame Academy in the semifinal round with the hopes of winning a fifth straight state title.

Seattle Prep Seattle, WA 19-0-0
Boston College commit Sophie Hirst, a junior, and sophomores Bea Franklin and Helena Reischling each scored twice last week as Seattle Prep advanced to the state tournament with wins over Bishop Blanchet and Lakeside. Seattle Prep could be on course to meet undefeated Gig Harbor in the state semifinals.

Neshaminy Langhorne, PA 20-1-1
Jackie Ziegler and Kristin Curley scored the goals while Neshaminy's defense delivered a fourth straight playoff shutout in a 2-0 win over No. 25 Pennridge in the District 1 final. Neshaminy earned the No. 1 seed for the upcoming 16-team state tournament. If the tournament plays out to the seeding, Neshaminy and Parkland would meet in one state semifinal while Norwin and Pennridge could meet in the other.

Hingham Hingham, MA 17-0-1
Hingham received a first-round playoff by in the MIAA South Division 2 playoffs and was scheduled to meet Dighton-Rehoboth in the quarterfinal round Monday night.

Hunterdon Central Flemington, NJ 17-1-1
Luciana Zullo had two goals and two assists in Hunterdon Central's 5-2 Central Jersey Group 4 quarterfinal win. The team's No. 1 state ranking will be put to the test this week when it faces fellow Top 25-ranked Colts Neck.

Northern Highlands Allendale, NJ 18-1-0
Eva Hurm, Joanna Kelly and Claire Nam scored the goals as Northern Highlands defeated Old tappan 3-1 last week to advance to the North 2, Group 3 semifinals.

Strongsville Strongsville, OH 18-1-1*
Season Complete. Ohio Division I region semifinalist.
School Facts: Public, 2,600 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Strongsville fell behind Walsh Jesuit 2-0 on goals from distance and could not recover in a season-ending 2-1 loss. Sabrina Ortenzi scored Strongsville's goal with 11 minutes remaining. The Mustangs figure to reload in 2017 as juniors Vanessa Dinardo (Cincinnati commit) and Lauren Rakytiak (Kent State commit) are projected to return after combing for 44 goals.

Massapequa Massapequa, NY 16-1-2
Illinois commit Hope Breslin, who usually does the scoring, assisted on two goals as Massapequa edged Northport 3-2 to advance to this week's state semifinals.

Montgomery Santa Rosa, CA 19-1-0
Emma Orosz scored three goals and Micky Rosenbaum (two assists) and Cindy Arteaga each added two goals as Montgomery cruised to a 9-0 victory over Petaluma. The Vikings next face Casa Grande. With No. 2 seed Maria Carrillo out of the playoffs, victim of a quarterfinal upset, Montgomery is now a very clear favorite. Montgomery is 6-0 against the other three semifinalists, winning those contests by a combined 27-2 margin.

Norwin Irwin, PA 20-0-1
Rutgers commit Emily Harrigan, a junior, scored the first two goals as Norwin built a 3-0 lead before settling on a 3-1 win over Canon-McMillan in a battle of undefeated teams in the District 7 final. Both teams advance to this week's state playoffs and could meet again in the quarterfinal round.

Maddie Kemp scored twice as Camas rolled Kentridge 5-1 last week to make a major leap in this week's SIMA FAB 50. Kemp, a sophomore, now has a team-best 26 goals for this high-powered team. Alyssa Tomansini, a senior, has 21 goals. Camas

Season Complete. Indiana Class 2A state runner-up.
School Facts: Private, 800 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Keeper Lauren Turner had nine saves and Michigan-bound Alia Martin helped create a few scoring chances, but the Braves could not get past SIMA FAB 50 No. 2 Penn in a 2-0 state final loss. The meeting marked the second year in a row Brebeuf and Penn have met in the final. WATCH THE STATE FINAL UNDER THE "ON DEMAND" TAB. Given the high number of key underclass players on both rosters, a third straight state final encounter in 2017 would not be a surprise.

Whitman-Hanson Whitman, MA 17-1-1
Whitman-Hanson is the No. 3 seed in a very strong MIAA South Division 1 tournament, and the team opened postseason play with a 2-0 victory over Weymouth.

Scotch Plains-Fanwood Scotch Plains, NJ 17-0-3
Scotch Plains defeated Franklin 2-0 and Elizabeth 7-0 to advance to this week's Group 4, North 2 semifinals. No player scored more than one goal in a match last week for Scotch Plains.

Springboro Springboro, OH 17-1-3
Springboro opened the season with a 3-2 loss to Strongsville, but has since gone 20 matches without a defeat to end up in this week's state semifinals against Pickerington North. The winner of the Springboro-Pickerington North match will face either Walsh Jesuit or Toledo Notre Dame Academy in the final.

Colts Neck Colts Neck, NJ 15-2-1
With Frankie Tagliaferri back in the lineup, Colts Neck has returned status of top-tier team. In playoff wins over Monroe and East Brunswick, Tagliaferri, a Penn State commit, scored four goals and had four assists. Kayla Lee added two goals and three assists. Colts Neck already has avenged both early season losses and back at full throttle has scored at least three goals in nine of its last 10 matches -- all wins. Next up is a playoff clash with Hunterdon Central.

Canon-McMillan Canonsburg, PA 18-1-1
Canon-McMillan's undefeated run ended with a 3-1 setback to Norwin in the District 7 final. Since the district gets three bids to the Class AAAA state tournament, Norwin, Canon-McMillan and Fox Chapel all advance to the state's Round of 16 this week.
23 Centennial Circle Pines, MN 18-0-3*
Season Complete. Minnesota Class AA state champion.
School Facts: Public, 2,035 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Tessa Trettel scored a goal in each half, both assisted by Olivia Lovick, as Centennial defeated Rosemount 2-1 to end a seven-year Lake and South Suburban conference stranglehold on large-school state titles. Centennial was the No. 5 seed entering the state quarterfinals, but was ranked No. 2 in the state by TopDrawerSoccer.com. Centennial won all three state playoff games by 2-1 margins, edging Lakeville North and Andover before the state final win.

Skyline Sammamish, WA 12-0-4
Skyline carries an eight-match shutout streak into its Round of 16 state playoff contest this week. The team has allowed only three goals this season. Goalkeeper Anna Smith has 13 shutouts.
25 (25) Pennridge Perkasie, PA 19-2-1
Pennridge lost to Neshaminy 2-0 in the District 1 final, but that only mattered for seeding on the state level as District 1 sends five teams to the 16-team state tournament. As the District 1, No. 2 seed, Pennridge is on the opposite side of the playoff bracket from Neshaminy and the two could play their way back to a state final rematch.
