FAB 50 High School Soccer Team Rankings

The fall season includes the following states: Connecticut, D.C., Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Virginia (private), Washington, West Virginia.

The rankings are compiled by high school rankings editor Sheldon Shealer.

Season Complete. Indiana Class 2A state champion.
School Facts: Public, 3,400 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Florida State commit Kristina Lynch, known for her goal scoring ability, assisted both second-half goals as Penn repeated as state champion. Xavier commit Holly McLaughlin scored the first goal off a pass from Lynch in the 54th minute, then Lynch set up Maya Lacognato's game-clincher seven minutes later. Penn has posted back-to-back undefeated seasons and heads into 2018 with a 47-match (45-0-2) undefeated streak. Northwestern commit Mackenzie Wood made a point-blank save early in the match to keep the game scoreless. Lynch finished the season with 44 goals and 19 assists. Juniors Lacognato and Notre Dame commit Brooke VanDyck each ended with 13 goals and double-digit assists. WATCH THE STATE FINAL UNDER THE "ON DEMAND" TAB.
2 (2) Arlington LaGrangeville, NY 20-0-0
Taylor James, Michaela Fasolino, Kaylee Sturans, Kelly Coster Sofia Germano scored the goals as Arlington built a 4-0 lead en route to a 5-1 section final victory.
3 (3) Portland Jesuit Portland, OR 15-0-0
Gonzaga commit Sophia Braun, Jaden McCelland and Callan Harrington scored the goals as Portland jesuit opened postseason play with a 3-0 win over North Medford.
4 (4) Northern Highlands Allendale, NJ 17-0-0
Five players scored as Northern Highlands handled Ramsey 5-0 in the Bergen County Tournament final.
5 (5) Houston Germantown, TN 25-0-0*
Season Complete. Tennessee Class AAA state champion.
School Facts: Public, 1,950 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Freshman Emma Riales scored the lone goal as Houston edged rival Collierville in an all-Memphis area state final to complete a perfect season. The win marked the eighth title for Houston under longtime coach David Wolff. The Houston senior class went 85-2-4 with two state titles, a runner-up finish and one semifinal appearance.
6 (6) Walsh Jesuit Cuyahoga Falls, OH 18-0-1
Walsh Jesuit has strolled through the postseason so far, winning three playoff matches by a combined 19-1 margin. The stakes get a bit higher this week as the Warriors face Massillon Jackson in the regional semifinals.
7 (7) Central Catholic Lawrence, MA 16-0-1
Providence commit Elayna Grillakis had three goals and two assists, Boston University commit Ashley Raphael added a goal and two assists and Stonehill commit Caitlin Regan added a goal and one assists as Central Catholic closed out an undefeated regular season with a win over Andover. The win was costly, though, as Raphael suffered a season-ending injury.

Three players scored as St. Anthony's handled St. John the Baptist 3-0 in the CHSAA Long Island semifinals. Next up is a third meeting with preseason co-favorite and always dangerous Sacred Heart.

Urbana Ijamsville, MD 14-0-1
Urbana was idle last week, earning a bye as the region's No. 1 seed. The hawks will start postseason play this week.

Northport Northport, NY 17-0-0
Emily McNelis scored the lone goal as Northport defeated Half Hollow Hills East 1-0 in the Suffolk Class AA semifinal. Northport faces Eastport-South Manor on Wednesday in the section final.

Wayzata Minneapolis, MN 16-0-3
Sophomore Samantha Dietrick scored all three goals as Wayzata defeated St. Michael-Albertville 3-0 in the state quarterfinals.

Issaquah Issaquah, WA 15-1-0
Catey Nelson and Kate Wilkinson scored the goals as Issaquah defeated rival and state-ranked Skyline 2-0 last week. Issaquah next faces Skyline again, this time for the league title.

Brooke Schutter had two goals and one assist as Parkland defeated Freedom 4-0 to start postseason play.

Strongsville Strongsville, OH 14-1-4
Cincinnati commit Vanessa DiNardo scored a hat trick as Strongsville defeated rival FAB 50-ranked Medina 3-0 to highlight last week's playoff action.

Miami (Ohio) commit Delaney Snyder scored twice as Moon handled Ambridge 5-0 in the WPIAL Class 3A quarterfinals last week. This week, Moon faces Montour in the semifinals.

Wall Township Wall, NJ 19-1-1
Jenna Karabin scored three goals as Wall avenged its only loss of the season with a 4-2 win over previously undefeated Freehold Township in the Shore Conference Tournament final.

Freehold Township Freehold, NJ 18-1-0
Jasmine Colbert and Jessica Judge scored second-half goals but the team was not able to overcome Wall Township during a 4-2 setback in the Shore Conference Tournament final.

Pickerington North rallied from a goal down to defeat Canal Winchester 2-1 and advance to this week's regional semifinals.

Season Complete. Indiana Class 3A state runner-up.
School Facts: Private, 750 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Marian commit Claire Gavin kept Guerin Catholic in the match with several key saves before Penn was able to net a pair of second-half goals in a 2-0 state final. Although Guerin Catholic has the enrollment of a 2A school, it asked -- and was granted -- permission to play in 3A with the traditional state powers. Guerin had a loss to Brebeuf, but twice beat Carmel -- the second time in PKs in the playoffs. Elle Vuotto led the team with 16 goals. Florida commit Cassidy Lindley and freshman standout Quincy McMahon each had 11.
20 (20) Carmel Carmel, IN 15-2-2*
Season Complete. Indiana Class 3A section runner-up.
School Facts: Public, 4,830 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Carmel's season ended with a shootout loss to Guerin Catholic in the section final. Both of the Greyhounds' losses this season were to Guerin, which included a 1-0 setback earlier in the year. The section final result leaves longtime coach Frank Dixon on 499 career victories. During the regular season, Carmel had key wins over Toledo Notre Dame Academy (Ohio) and Noblesville and the Greyhounds tied Penn. During the postseason, Carmel pinned a 3-0 defeat on previously undefeated Brebeuf Jesuit. Junior Ashley Witucki, a Purdue commit, had two goals and one assist, sophomore Kelsie James, a Valparaiso commit, had a goal and senior standout Katie Soderstrom, a Butler commit, had two assists.

Jenna Peters netted the lone goal as Pennsbury defeated Council Rock South 1-0 in the Class 4A District One quarterfinals. The result sets up a district semifinal clash with FAB 50 No. 23 Owen J. Roberts. Both teams,however, have clinched spots in next week's PIAA Class 4A state tournament.

Bridgewater-Raritan Bridgewater, NJ 15-1-0
Meghan Ball and Gianna Minerva scored the goals as Bridgewater-Raritan ended a 22-year county title drought with a 2-0 win over Ridge.

Owen J. Roberts Pottstown, PA 20-1-0
Mahogany Willis scored twice and Kenzie Milne and Caroline Thompson each added one goal as Owen J. Roberts defeated Souderton 4-1 in a Class 4A District One quarterfinal match.

Norwin Irwin, PA 16-1-1
Alexis Kendro scored two goals and Rutgers commit Emily Harrigan added a late goal as Norwin defeated Kiski Area 3-1. The result sends Norwin into a WPIAL Class 4A semifinal clash with North Allegheny.
25 (25) Brebeuf Jesuit Indianapolis, IN 18-1-1*
Season Complete. Indiana Class 3A section semifinalist.
School Facts: Private, 800 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Brebeuf Jesuit's bid for a third straight state final ended in a playoff loss to Carmel, the team's only setback of the season. Brebeuf handed Guerin Catholic its only defeat. The Braves played to a tie with FAB 50-ranked Noblesville, and defeated Kentucky power Sacred Heart. Arizona commit Hallie Pearson led the team in goals and assists. Saint Louis commit Brianna Arthur was second in goals.
