The winter high school season includes the following states: Arizona, California, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. The rankings are compiled by high school rankings editor Sheldon Shealer.

A a team full of college-bound players, it was freshman Presley Echols who came up big as she scored both goals in Highland Park's 2-1 win over Prosper in a battle of undefeated teams in the regional final. Echols has 34 goals this season. Highland Park, the Class 6A runner-up the past two seasons, moves to the Class 5A state semifinals this week.

St. Johns Country Day Orange Park, FL 25-0-0*
Season Complete. Florida Class 1A state champion.
School Facts: Private, 650 students, grades PK-12.
NOTES: St. Johns Country Day capped a perfect season with a sixth straight state title, besting Lakeland Christian 2-0. The Spartans received an own goal less than two minutes into the match, and Abbey Newton added the other score just before halftime. The Spartans are riding a 57-match undefeated streak -- 44 straight wins. Despite a lineup loaded with NCAA Division I-bound players, St. Johns Country Day did not face a single FAB 50-ranked team this year. The squad's most notable wins were a 4-2 victory over 4A state runner-up Creekside (which lost 2-0 to St. Thomas Aquinas), a 3-2 win over 3A region semifinalist Ponte Vedra and a 2-0 victory over 2A state semifinalist Bolles School.

Oviedo Oviedo, FL 22-0-1*
Season Complete. Florida Class 5A state champion.
School Facts: Public, 2,500 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Madi Allen, Sarah Preston and Hailey Beavers scored goals as Oviedo opened up a 2-0 lead en route to a 3-1 win over Boca Raton in the state final that pitted undefeated teams. The victory capped a first-ever undefeated season for Oviedo, which also won its fourth state title in the past seven seasons. Oviedo built quite a resume this season, pinning the lone loss on 3A champ Merritt Island, in addition to a win over SIMA FAB 50-ranked Newsome. The Lions will carry a 31-match undefeated streak into the 2017-18 campaign.

Brentwood Liberty Brentwood, CA 20-1-1*
Season Complete. CIF North Coast Section Division I champion.
School Facts: Public, 2,350 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Pepperdine signee Devyn Gilfoy scored twice and assisted on another goal in a five-minute span to start the second half as Liberty rallied for a 3-2 victory over Carondelet in the NCS Division I final. UCLA signee Danielle Sheehan scored the team's other goal. Liberty, winners of four straight Bay Valley Athletic League titles, won its second section title in three years.

JSerra San Juan Capistrano, CA 22-1-3*
Season Complete. CIF Southern California Regional Division I champion. CIF Southern Section Division 1 champion.
School Facts: Private, 1,200 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Samantha Hobert and Samantha Williams scored the goals as JSerra defeated Huntington Beach 2-1 for the second straight week, this time for the SCR title and the top ranking among Southern California schools. The Lions led by Santa Clara commit Isabella D'Aquila. JSerra handed Huntington Beach a 2-1 setback in the section semifinals a week before.

Livermore Livermore, CA 19-1-4*
Season Complete. CIF North Coast Section Division II champion.
School Facts: Public, 2,050 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Cal State-Chico signe Makenzie Farro scored the game-winner in the final minutes of regulation as Livermore edged Northgate 2-1 in the section final. During the regular season, Livermore defeated Carondelet and tied Monte Vista. Air Force commit Lexi Romero, a junior, led the team in goals, follwed by Farro. San Diego signee Marley Walke led the teams in assists, followed by St. Mary's commit Kamryn Farro, a sophomore.

Carondelet Concord, CA 20-2-2*
Season Complete. CIF North Coast Section Division I runner-up.
School Facts: Private, all-girls, 800 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Cassidy Tshimbalanga scored the first goal that gave Carondelet an early lead before falling to Liberty 3-2 in the section final. Tshimbalanga ended with two goals. Carondelet's losses were to Liberty and Livermore, while racking up seven wins over teams that were in the SIMA FAB 50. The team went undefeated at the National Elite Prep Showcase in Texas. The Cougars featured 17 underclass players on a 21-person roster, and the key senior is Notre Dame signee Erin Ospeck.

Davis Davis, CA 22-0-1*
Season Complete. CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division I champion.
School Facts: Public, 1,700 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Davis made the transition to the winter season seemingly flawless. The team posted a second straight undefeated season, winning a third straight section title, with a 2-0 decision over Woodcreek in the final. Davis is riding a 45-match undefeated streak. Cal Poly signee Sidra Bugsch and Stanford commit Maya Doms, a sophomore, scored the goals for Davis, which scored 137 goals this season. Davis previously played spring high school soccer until making the move this school year. Bugsch was named the Delta League Player of the Year. Sara Stone, who was the TeamSnap Spring High School Coach of the Year last school year, was named Delta League Coach of the Year. She has a six-year coaching record of 114-12-10.

Keller Keller, TX 21-2-2
New Mexico signee Cami Floth and Makenna Pate scored the goals as Keller defeated Southlake Carroll 2-0 in the region final. The win sends Keller into the state semifinals. The result also avenged Keller's only instate loss, a 3-1 setback to Southlake Carroll in January. Keller's other loss was the first week of the season to eventual California-North champion Liberty (Calif.).

Season Complete. Texas Class 6A region runner-up.
School Facts: Public, 1,300 students, grades 11-12.
NOTES: Carroll's state title dreams ended with a 2-0 region final loss to Keller, a team Carroll had defeated 3-1 earlier in the season. Carroll had key wins over Harvard-Westlake (Calif.), Texas 6A state semifinalist Hendricksen, Texas 5A state semifinalist Boerne Champion, league rival Marcus and region-ranked Frenship.

Monte Vista Danville, CA 15-4-4*
Season Complete. CIF North Coast Section Division I semifinalist.
School Facts: Public, 2,200 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Monte Vista's season ended with a one-sided loss to Liberty in the section semifinals. All four of the team's losses were to team that were in the SIMA FAB 50 Top 25. The Mustangs went 3-0-2 against other SIMA FAB 50 teams, including a 2-0 victory over Florida 4A champion St. Thomas Aquinas. Monte Vista's top four goal scorers are all underclassmen, meaning expectations will be high in 2017-18.

St. Thomas Aquinas Fort Lauderdale, FL 22-1-2*
Season Complete. Florida Class 4A state champion.
School Facts: Private, 2,135 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Ohio State signee Chloe O'Neill scored the first goal, assisted by Florida State-bound Isabella Dorosy, and Tara Hamilton added the insurance as St. Thomas Aquinas blanked Creekside 2-0 for the program's 15th state title. The Raiders have won five titles in the past seven seasons, and its total of 15 trails only Ursuline Academy (Texas), which has won 25 state titles. The Raiders were nearly perfect in Florida, going 21-0-1 against instate opponents. The team went 1-1-1 at the Tri-Valley Classic in California, with the loss coming to Monte Vista (Calif.). On the way to a title, Aquinas twice defeated regionally ranked Archbishop McCarthy, routed 5A state semifinalist Lourdes and mercy-ruled St. Petersburg in the state semifinals.

Moorpark Moorpark, CA 25-1-2*
Season Complete. CIF Southern California Regional Division II champion. CIF Southern Section Division 2 champion.
School Facts: Public, 2,050 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Columbia commit Jordyn Geller assisted the first goal then scored the next two as Moorpark held off San Marcos 3-2 in the SCR final. Moorpark had gone 91 years without a section or state title, then won both a section crown and a CIF state-sanctioned tournament only a week apart.

Season Complete. Florida Class 5A state runner-up.
School Facts: Public, 3,500 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Dayana Martin scored the lone goal in Boca Raton's 3-1 loss to Oviedo in the state final. The match ended a perfect season for the Bobcats. With nine underclassmen in the starting lineup, including Martin and Kendra Cashion -- who combined for 70 goals -- expectations will be high in the 2017-18 season.

South Torrance Torrance, CA 22-1-2*
Season Complete. CIF Southern California Regional Division III champion. CIF Southern Section Division 3 champion.
School Facts: Private, 1,200 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Claire Grouwinkel scored in overtime to lift South Torrance to a 2-1 victory over Claremont in the SCR final. It was an emotional win for South Torrance as a former baseball standout had died in a car accident only days earlier.
16 Vandegrift Austin, TX 19-1-4
Afrah Kahn and Holly Streber scored the goals as Vandegrfit upended Cibolo Steele 2-0 in the region final to advance to this week's Class 6A state semifinals. The Vipers are making their third state semifinal appearance in four years, but first at the Class 6A level.

Merritt Island Merritt Island, FL 22-1-3*
Season Complete. Florida Class 3A state champion.
School Facts: Public, 1,500 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Jordan Tomberlin delivered a pair of saves in the shootout as Merritt Island defeated Stanton following a scoreless match. The Mustangs won the shootout 4-2. Tomberlin also came up big in the team's 2-0 state semifinal win over previously undefeated American Heritage-Plantation, recording 11 saves. Merritt Island's only loss this season is to Top 5-ranked Oviedo.
18 Hendrickson Pflugerville, TX 17-4-4
Christina Arteaga scored the winning goal in overtime as Hendrickson surprised The Woodlands in a 3-2 region final contest. Hendrickson advanced out of a region that included Sachse and Coppell. The Hawks defeated Sachse 1-0 just a couple of days after Sachse upset previously undefeated Coppell.

School Facts: Public, 2,775 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Abby Weston scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in a region quarterfinal win over previously undefeated Coppell in a match that featured 16 players who have signed or verbally committed to college programs. The Mustangs then lost a 1-0 decision to Hendrickson. Sachse opened the season with a loss and rolled off 24 straight wins until the season-ending loss to Hendrickson.

School Facts: Public, 3,100 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Coppell allowed only three goals on the year, but the final one resulted in a 1-0 loss to Sachse in the regional quarterfinals.

School Facts: Public, 1,850 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Mountain View received goals from two players in a 3-1 victory over Archbishop Mitty in the section final. Mountain View was coming off a section runner-up finish last season. Over the past two years, Mountain View is 38-2-5.

Season Complete. TAPPS Division I champion.
School Facts: Private, all-girls, 800 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Ursuline Academy won its 26th TAPPS state title in 27 years, blanking Houston St. Agnes 2-0 in the final. Senior Alex Arenas and freshman Katie Gay scored the goals. Leah Archer recorded the shutout. Ursuline Academy did not allow a goal in postseason play. The Bears' losses were to Bishop Lynch, which it later avenged, and Carondelet (Calif.). The team had key victories over SPC champ Episcopal School of Dallas, Allen, three wins over Nolan Catholic and a tie with Keller.

Season Complete. Hawaii Division I state champion.
School Facts: Private, 1,900 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Just days after signing with Sacramento State, Kylee Kim-Bustillos scored both goals as Iolani capped an undefeated season with a 2-1 state final win over rival Punahou. The result brought back a sense of normalcy to the Hawaii girls soccer scene as these IHL rivals played for the state title. Until recently, the IHL dominated postseason play in Hawaii with league members once claiming 12 straight state titles.

NOTES: Kat Rogers gave Prosper a 1-0 lead over Highland Park in the first half before Highland Park rallied for a 2-1 victory in the region final.

Season Complete. Texas Class 6A region semifinalist.
School Facts: Public, 3,250 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Marcus, the district runner-up to Southlake Carroll in a loaded district, saw its season end with a 2-0 loss to Keller. Marcus had a 10-match undefeated streak until the setback. The Marauders, the SIMA FAB 50 preseason No. 1 team, split its matches with Southlake Carroll and posted the only loss on Liberty's (Calif.) season in a time-shortened, indoor game in January.
