The winter high school season includes the following states: Arizona, California, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. The rankings are compiled by high school rankings editor Sheldon Shealer.

Season Complete. Florida Class 1A state champion.
School Facts: Private, 650 students, grades PK-12.
NOTES: St. Johns Country Day capped a second straight perfect season with a 6-0 thrashing of Miami Country Day in the state final. The victory marked SJCD's state record-tying seventh straight title and extended the program's win streak to 70 matches. The Spartans also posted multi-goal wins over 4A champ Montverde Academy, 3A champ Merritt Island and 2A champ Bolles School during the regular season. SJCD is seeing the end of an era with the graduation of a loaded senior class that includes Florida State signee Kirsten Pavlisko, TCU signee Payton Crews, LSU signee Abbey Newton and Troy signee Alisa Detlefsen. Crews scored twice. Newton had a goal and Detlefsen added three assists. All three players were sixth-graders on the varsity when the title streak started.
2 (2) Monte Vista Danville, CA 26-0-1*
Season Complete. CIF NorCal Division I champion. North Coast Section Division I champion.
School Facts: Public, 2,255 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: UCLA commit Megan Edelman scored the lone goal as Monte Vista defeated Archbishop Mitty for the inaugural NorCal Regional Division I title. On the way to the final, Monte Vista routed Palo Alto 6-0 and edged league rival Carondelet 2-1. Edelman finished with a team-high 21 goals. Seven of the team's eight leading scorers and Monte Vista's goalkeeper are underclassman and the team will be a lock preseason No. 1 if all return next winter. The Mustangs were undefeated on the field, reflected in the team's record, but did forfeit a December victory.

Houston Memorial Hedwig Village, TX 27-0-1*
Season Complete. Texas Class 6A state champion.
School Facts: Public, 2,600 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Oklahoma State signee Grace Yochum started the scoring and TCU commit Grace Collins added two more as Memorial handled Marcus 3-0 in the state final to cap a magical season for this Houston program. Memorial is only the third Houston-area team to win the Texas large-school state title since 2006 and only the seventh since the state tournament started in 1983. Collins was named MVP, Youchum, keeper Bella Killgore and Addie Gaetano were named to the all-tournament team.

Archbishop Mitty San Jose, CA 22-2-2*
Season Complete. CIF NorCal Division I runner-up. Central Coast Section Open champion.
School Facts: Private, 1,750 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Mitty's season ended with a 1-0 loss to Monte Vista in the NorCal Division I final. Mitty's only losses this year were a pair of 1-0 setbacks to Monte Vista. Mitty had key wins over Palo Alto (twice), Buchanan, Mountain View, Foothill and Granite Bay.

Season Complete. CIF SoCal Division I champion. Southern Section Division 1 semifinalist.
School Facts: Public, 3,450 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Freshman Alexys Ocampo scored early in the second half and Upland stunned defending regional champion JSerra 1-0 in the SoCal Division I final. Upland had lost in a shootout to JSerra early in the year and a potential rematch in the section final did not materialize as Upland was upset by Santa Margarita.

JSerra San Juan Capistrano, CA 20-2-5*
Season Complete. CIF SoCal Division I runner-up. Southern Section Division 1 champion.
School Facts: Private, 1,300 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: A high-powered JSerra offense was silenced in a 1-0 SoCal Regional final setback to Upland. The Lions, which have won back-to-back section titles, were going for a second straight regional crown.

The Woodlands The Woodlands, TX 22-1-2*
Season Complete. Texas 6A regional semifinalist.
School Facts: Public, 4,150 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: The Woodlands' undefeated season ended with a 2-1 loss to Houston Memorial in the regional semifinals. Junior Shianne Knight scored The Woodlands' lone goal. The Woodlands posted a regular season win over Southlake Carroll to highlight an undefeated regular season.

Wakeland Frisco, TX 23-1-3*
Season Complete. Texas 5A state champion.
School Facts: Public, 2,200 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: There was little doubt that the Wakeland-Highland Park playoff winner eventually would deliver a state title, and Wakeland delivered on that promise to secure a FAB 50 Top 10 finish in a hard-fought match with nationally ranked Grapevine. The match was tied at 1 after regulation, then tied at 3 after overtime. Mackenzie Wilbanks made a game-winning save in the shootout to give Wakeland its second title in three seasons. Payton Adams was named the game's MVP. Adams, Grace Bria, Hannah Mandel and Taylor Fogle were named to the all-tournament team.

Highland Park University Park, TX 25-1-1*
Season Complete. Texas Class 5A regional runner-up champion.
School Facts: Public, 2,100 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Highland Park's 53-match undefeated streak came to an end with a shootout loss to Wakeland in the regional final following a 2-2 contest through regulation and two overtime sessions. Texas commit Presely Echols gave Highland Park a 1-0 lead and Penn State signee Rachel Wasserman gave the Scots a 2-1 advantage, but both times Wakeland rallied.

Montverde Academy Montverde, FL 21-1-0*
Season Complete. Florida Class 4A state champion.
School Facts: Private, 1,200 students, grades PK-12.
NOTES: Jody Brown, Shayla Smart, Maria Tregansin and Cecilie Neilsen scored the goals as Montverde Academy won its first state title with a 4-0 victory over Estero. Much like the boys program, the girls are building toward a regional powerhouse. The team's only loss this year was to top-ranked St. Johns Country Day.

Carondelet Concord, CA 18-7-4*
Season Complete. CIF NorCal Division I semifinalist. North Coast Section Division I runner-up.
School Facts: Private, all-girls, 800 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Carondelet faced the nation's most demanding schedule, playing 17 games against teams that appeared in the FAB 50 this season. Two weeks after losing to Monte Vista in the section final, Carondelet's season ended with a regional loss to the same Monte Vista side. The inaugural NorCal playoffs gave Carondelet a second crack at Davis, and this time emerged as a winner. Carondelet posted a midseason win over Texas 6A runner-up during a perfect 4-0 showing at the National Elite Prep Showcase.

Season Complete. CIF NorCal Division I semifinalist. North Coast Section Division I runner-up.
School Facts: Private, all-girls, 800 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Davis undefeated streak ended at 71 matches (64-0-7) following a 2-1 loss to Carondelet in the NorCal Regional quarterfinals. U.S. U17 National team member Maya Doms, a Stanford commit, gave Davis an early lead before Carondelet rallied. Davis won an early season match between the NorCal powers in December.

Season Complete. Texas Class 6A state runner-up.
School Facts: Public, 2,450 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Marcus' season ended with a 3-0 state final loss to undefeated Houston Memorial. The Marauders edged Cinco Ranch in a shootout in the state semifinals. Seniors Taylor Moon, Maddie Algya and Kaity Hemperly were named to the all-tournament team. Moon and Algya signed with Baylor and, along with Hemperly, played a major role in putting Marcus back on the national map over the past four seasons. Hemperly scored twice in regulation and then and converted the match-winning penalty kick in the state semifinal shootout win over Cinco Ranch.

Season Complete. Texas Class 6A state semifinalist.
School Facts: Public, 3,175 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Cinco Ranch scored with two second remaining in regulation to send its state semifinal match with Marcus to overtime before the Cougars eventually fell in penalty kicks. Juniors Ali Russell, a Texas A&M commit, and Makayla Wang were named to the all-tournament team.

Allen Allen, TX 22-2-1*
Season Complete. Texas 6A regional runner-up.
School Facts: Public, 4,850 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Allen's season ended with a 3-1 overtime loss to Marcus in the regional final. The Eagles held the advantage in shots and possession, but could muster only one goal from Brown commit Tosin Alao. Allen's only other defeat was to Highland Park, and the Eagles defeated Southlake Carroll in the playoffs.

Southlake Carroll Southlake, TX 20-2-2*
Season Complete. Texas 6A regional quarterfinalist.
School Facts: Public, 1,300 students, grades 11-12.
NOTES: Southlake Carroll's season ended with a regional quarterfinal loss to Allen. The Dragons' other loss was to The Woodlands. Southlake Carroll went 5-0-2 against other FAB 50- and regionally ranked opponents, including a win and a draw with league rival Marcus.
17 (17) Santa Margarita Rancho Santa Margarita, CA 16-6-5*
Season Complete. CIF SoCal Division I semifinalist. Southern Section Division 1 runner-up.
School Facts: Private, 1,700 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: For the second week in a row, Santa Margarita lost to JSerra -- this time in penalty kicks. A week earlier, JSerra won the Southern Section title 1-0 over the Eagles. At the regional level, Santa Margarita dispatched San Diego champion Eastlake 2-0 in the quarterfinals to earn a rematch with JSerra. Following a 1-1 match, JSerra won on penalty kicks.

Season Complete. CIF SoCal Division I semifinalist. Southern Section Division 1 semifinalist.
School Facts: Public, 2,145 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: L Mirada's season ended with a 2-0 loss to Upland. The Matadores had a breakthrough season in 2018, which included a run to the section semifinals before losing to JSerra on penalty kicks. The team's tied earlier in the season. La Mirada edged Buchanan in penalty kicks before running into Upland.
19 (19) Santiago/Corona Corona, CA 22-2-6*
Season Complete. CIF-Southern Section Division 1 quarterfinalist.
School Facts: Public, 3,580 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Santiago's stellar season ended with a 3-1 loss to JSerra in the CIF-Southern Section Division 1 quarterfinals. Hawaii signee McKenzie Moore and California commit Rilee Harmon, a sophomore, were named to the All-CIF Southern Section Division I team.
20 (20) Estero Estero, FL 24-3-1*
Season Complete. Florida Class 4A state runner-up.
School Facts: Public, 1,745 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Estero's playoff run ended with a loss to Montverde Academy in the state final. The match before that, Estero stunned Archbishop McCarthy to earn a national ranking.
21 (21) Archbishop McCarthy Southwest Ranches, FL 23-2-2*
Season Complete. Florida Class 4A state semifinalist.
School Facts: Private, 1,600 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Archbishop McCarthy built a 4-1 state semifinal lead before suffering a 5-4 loss to Estero in the state semifinals. The Mavericks' stellar season was built on two wins over perennial national power St. Thomas Aquinas.
22 (22) St. Thomas Aquinas Fort Lauderdale, FL 13-2-1*
Season Complete. Florida Class 4A regional semifinalist.
School Facts: Private, 2,135 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: St. Thomas Aquinas' season ended with a 2-1 loss to Archbishop McCarthy in the regional semifinals. St. Thomas Aquinas and McCarthy played three one-goal matches this season with McCarthy winning twice -- both losses on Aquinas' record. The Raiders had shutout wins over Boca Raton, Oxbridge Academy and Lourdes. McCarthy, Oxbridge Academy and Lourdes' only regular season losses this year are to St. Thomas Aquinas.
23 (23) Lourdes Miami, FL 20-1-0*
Season Complete. Florida Class 5A state champion.
School Facts: Private, 2,135 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Alexa Mascaro scored the lone goal with 25 minutes remaining as Lourdes stunned two-time defending champ Oviedo 1-0 in the state final. The Bobcats played two FAB 50 Top 25 teams this year, losing to St. Thomas Aquinas and beating Oviedo. The meeting with Oviedo marked the third time the teams have played in the final, with Oviedo winning the 2013 and 2016 encounters.

Season Complete. Florida Class 5A state runner-up.
School Facts: Public, 2,475 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Oviedo was in the national title chase until getting upset by Lourdes in the state final 1-0. The final score marked the end of Oviedo's undefeated streak, which stood at 53 matches. It also marked the first time the Lions had been shut out since Jan. 7, 2016. Oviedo started the season with 21 straight shutout wins and allowed only two goals all season.

Season Complete. Texas 5A state runner-up.
School Facts: Public, 2,015 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Grapevine never trailed in the match until it was over -- a shootout loss to Wakeland in the state final. The result marked Grapevine's second state final loss in a shootout in the past three seasons. Brianna Eye gave Grapevine a 1-0 lead and regulation finished 1-1. In overtime, Audrey Alderink made it 2-1 and later Nikki Romero made it 3-2, each time Wakeland responded. Senior standout Sophia Sith, sophomore Taylor Dellosso and junior Brianna Gajewski were name to the all-tournament team.
