NOTES: St. Johns Country Day capped a second straight perfect season with a 6-0 thrashing of Miami Country Day in the state final. The victory marked SJCD's state record-tying seventh straight title and extended the program's win streak to 70 matches. The Spartans also posted multi-goal wins over 4A champ Montverde Academy, 3A champ Merritt Island and 2A champ Bolles School during the regular season. SJCD is seeing the end of an era with the graduation of a loaded senior class that includes Florida State signee Kirsten Pavlisko, TCU signee Payton Crews, LSU signee Abbey Newton and Troy signee Alisa Detlefsen. Crews scored twice. Newton had a goal and Detlefsen added three assists. All three players were sixth-graders on the varsity when the title streak started. |
