The winter high school season includes the following states: Arizona, California, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. The rankings are compiled by high school rankings editor Sheldon Shealer.

Washington State commit Marin Whieldon scored all three goals as Upland defeated Cypress to advance to this week's CIF Southern Section Division 1 quarterfinals. The Highlanders will next face SIMA FAB 50 No. 24 Harvard-Westlake.

NOTES: Montverde Academy closed out one of the most bizarre seasons in memory with a 4-0 win over regionally ranked Holy Names. The Eagles, which opted not to compete in the state tournament this year after winning back-to-back titles, played only three matches after Dec. 13 as seven teams canceled games against this state power. This year's team was led by Jamaican National Team player Jody Brown, who has committed to Florida State, and UCF commit Maria Tregansin. Montverde Academy's marquee win was a 3-2 decision over Bartram Trail. The playoff performances of the teams Montverde Academy defeated will go a long way in determining this team's final ranking.

Sophomore Carlie Krueger scored the lone goal as Flower Mound edged Coppell 1-0 in a clash of national Top 25 teams last week.
5 (5) Prosper Prosper, TX 15-0-1
Ava Dinverno and Jordan Herrera each had a goal and one assist as Prosper defeated Plano 4-0 in the team's only match last week.
6 (6) Byron Nelson Trophy Club, TX 11-0-2
Byron Nelson and Guyer played to a 2-2 draw with Cassidy Bell scoring both goals.
7 (7) Archbishop Mitty San Jose, CA 15-1-3
Emma Vane had a goal and two assists as Archbishop Mitty handled Presentation 4-0 in the team's only game last week.

Cathedral Catholic San Diego, CA 19-2-3
Cathedral Catholic was idle last week. The Dons start postseason play as the No. 1 seed in the CIF San Diego Open tournament.

McAllen McAllen, TX 14-1-0
McAllen was pushed to a shootout by rival McAllen Memorial, but the Bulldogs came away with the victory. Later in the week, Chloe Fallek scored four goals as the Bulldogs handled PSJA 10-1.

Allen and Plano West played to a 1-1 draw last week in the team's only outing.

Ursuline Academy Dallas, TX 18-0-1
Emma Fitzgerald had a goal and one assist as Ursuline Academy cruised to a 6-0 win over Prestonwood Christian Academy in the TAPPS playoffs. Ursuline faces rival Nolan Catholic in the state semifinals. The teams tied an earlier meeting this season, which is the lone blemish on Ursuline's record.

Texas Tech signee Briley Weatherford scored both goals as Hebron defeated Lewisville 2-1. The Hawks remain in second place behind Flower Mound in a stellar district that features four SIMA FAB 50 Top 25 teams.

Kelly Van Gundy scored two goals as Marcus won its only outing last week, a 4-0 decision over MacArthur.

St, Agnes cruised into the TAPPS state semifinals with a 6-0 win over Duchesne Academy. The Tigers will face Antonion College Prep in the semifinals with the winner moving on to face either SIMA FAB 50 No. 11 Ursuline Academy or regionally ranked Nolan Catholic in the state final.

Pepperdine commit Tabitha LaParl scored the overtime game-winner in a 1-0 decision over Northwood, then scored a goal in a 2-0 victory over San Juan Hills. Colorado commit Jayden Newkirk netted the other goal. Los Alamitos faces SIMA FAB 50 No. 24 JSerra in the CIF Southern Section Division 1 quarterfinals. The teams played for the section and regional titles last year with JSerra winning both meetings en route to a SIMA FAB 50 No. 1 finish.

Kalia Kalua was named Most Outstanding Player for the state tournament. Five other KS-Kapalama players, including Aluli, were named to the all-tournament team.

Utah commit Kennedy Carter had two goals and two assists, factoring in all four goals, as JSerra defeated Troy 4-2. Loyola Marymount commit Abby Lynch scored the other two goals. The win sends JSerra back into the CIF Southern Section Division 1 quarterfinals.

Natalie Barnouw and Sophia Haynes each scored twice as Harvard-Westlake defeated Centennial 4-0 to advance to the CIF Southern Section Division 1 quarterfinals. The Wolverines will face SIMA FAB 50 No. 2 Upland in the quarterfinals.
