The winter high school season includes the following states: Arizona, California, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. The rankings are compiled by high school rankings editor Sheldon Shealer.

School Facts: Private, 1,200 students, grades K-12.
NOTES: Montverde Academy closed out one of the most bizarre seasons in memory with a 4-0 win over regionally ranked Holy Names. The Eagles, which opted not to compete in the state tournament this year after winning back-to-back titles, played only three matches after Dec. 13 as seven teams canceled games against this state power. This year's team was led by Jamaican National Team player Jody Brown, who has committed to Florida State, UCF commit Maria Tregansin and South Florida commit Vivianne Bessette. Montverde Academy's signature win was a 3-2 decision over Bartram Trail, which went on to a 5-0 state final win in the Florida Class 7A final, featuring the state's largest schools.

Flower Mound Flower Mound, TX 17-0-1
Tatum Beck netted the first goal in Flower Mound's 6-0 win over Irving last week and the last goal in an 8-0 victory over Nimitz. In between, Houston signee Caitlyn Matthews and Abby Smith each scored five goals as the Jaguars rolled to a pair of victories.

Tompkins Katy, TX 15-0-1
Alyssa Garcia fended off injury and scored both goals s Tompkins stayed undefeated with a 2-1 win over rival Cinco Ranch last week.
4 (4) Prosper Prosper, TX 18-0-2
Prosper was held to a 1-1 draw by Boyd last week, ending the team's 15-match win streak. The Eagles, however, remain ahead of SIMA FAB 50 No. 7 Allen in the District 9-6A race.

Archbishop Mitty San Jose, CA 19-1-3
Archbishop Mitty edged league rival St. Francis 2-1 to win the Central Coast Section Open Division title and earn a No. 3 seed in this week's NorCal Regional Division I championships. Mitty will take on SIMA FAB 50 No. 32 in the regional quarterfinals.

Cathedral Catholic San Diego, CA 22-2-3
Audrey Covington scored a pair of goals to lead Cathedral Catholic to a 3-1 win over Carlsbad in the CIF San Diego Section Open Division. The Dons earned the No. 2 seed in this week's SoCal Regional and will face Huntington Beach Edison in the quarterfinals.

Allen Allen, TX 15-1-2
Anna Reysa scored three goals and Kalista Hough added two as Allen cruised to a 6-0 win over Plano East.

Santiago/Corona Corona, CA 16-5-4
Following a scoreless match, Santiago won in the shootout over then SIMA FAB 50 No. 1 Upland to claim the CIF Southern Section Division 1 title. The Sharks earned the No. 1 seed in this week's SoCal Regional and faces regionally ranked Mira Costa in the quarterfinals.

Upland Upland, CA 26-0-1
Upland's perfect season ended in a shootout loss to Santiago in the Southern Section Division 1 final. The Highlanders get a chance at redemption this week as they received the No. 3 seed in the SoCal Regional Division I championships. Upland faces San Diego Section Open runner-up Carlsbad in the quarterfinals.

Byron Nelson Trophy Club, TX 14-1-2
Byron Nelson's undefeated streak ended with a 1-0 loss to Southlake Carroll last week. Despite the loss, the Bobcats remain comfortably in front of Keller in the District 5-6A race.
11 (11) Marcus Flower Mound, TX 17-3-0
Kelly Van Gundy scored the last two goals as Marcus pulled away in the final 10 minutes for a 3-1 victory over former SIMA FAB 50-ranked Hebron. The win avenges one of Marcus' losses this season.
12 (12) St. Agnes Academy Houston, TX 22-1-0*
Season Complete. TAPPS Division I state champion.
School Facts: Private, all-girls, 925 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: St. Agnes ended 30 years of DFW dominance of TAPPS with an emphatic 6-0 victory over Nolan Catholic, which finished as state runner-up for the 18th time in 29 years. St. Agnes' only loss this season came to Marcus during the National Elite Prep Showcase in early January. The Tigers were led by a star-studded lineup that featured Texas A&M signee Lauren Geczik, Notre Dame commit Leah Klenke, Rice commit Kenna Sanders, among others. Freshman standout Jaide-Simone Prejean scored a pair of first-half goals against Nolan en route to a 4-0 halftime lead. Klenke also finished with two goals.

Bartram Trail St. Johns, FL 21-1-3*
Season Complete. Florida Class 7A state champion.
School Facts: Public, 2,310 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Five players scored goals as Bartram Trail rolled to a 5-0 victory over SIMA FAB 50-ranked Cypress Bay in the state final. The convincing win over the Florida-South No. 2-ranked squad vaults Bartram Trail to No. 2 in the final state rankings. The only loss Bartram Trail sustained was a 3-2 setback to undefeated Montverde Academy. In the final against Cypress Bay, New Hampshire signee Ella Dudley, Troy signee Paige Hunt, sophomore Jordan Follenweider and freshmen Olivia Bori and Grace Ivey scored the goals.

Clovis North Fresno, CA 22-1-2
Clovis North was idle last week while the other sections finished postseason play. Although the Broncos earned the No. 1 seed in the NorCal Division I tournament it drew SIMA FAB 50 No. 33 Carondelet in a match that can go either way, despite Carondelet's No. 8 seed.
15 (15) JSerra San Juan Capistrano, CA 16-5-0
JSerra's run of section titles ended at three following a 2-0 loss to Santiago in the section semifinals. JSerra had pinned an early 1-0 loss on Santiago in December. The team gets a second chance at strong finish as the Lions received an at-large bid to the CIF SoCal Regional Division I tournament. While expectations were high for JSerra entering the season, losing two key players to injury tempered thoughts of a FAB 50 title repeat. JSerra had key wins over Harvard-Westlake, Edison and Los Alamitos in the sectional playoffs.
16 (16) Los Alamitos Los Alamitos, CA 22-5-4*
Season Complete. CIF Southern Section Division 1 quarterfinalist.
School Facts: Public, 3,350 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Just like last year, Los Alamitos' season ended with a loss to JSerra. The difference -- last year the teams met in the section and regional finals with JSerra winning both. This year, JSerra knocked out Los Alamitos in the sectional quarterfinals, 2-0. The Griffins had a strong showing in 2019-20, led by Pepperdine commit Tabitha LaParl, Santa Clara commit Colby Barnett and Colorado signee Jayden Newkirk. The highlight win for the Griffins was a 4-0 decision over Archbishop McCarthy (Fla.) during a tournament in California. The Griffins had a 1-0 win over Santiago in the regular sason and both key wins over Villa Park and Cathedral Catholic.

School Facts: Private, 1,200 students, grades K-12.
NOTES: Archbishop McCarthy delivered the program's first state title in a 2-0 win over Ponte Vedra. UCF signee Jordyn Pitter got the scoring started when her crossed was deflected into the net for an own goal. Lily Katz capped the scoring midway through the second half. In an area once dominated by St. Thomas Aquinas, this McCarthy program, under veteran coach Mike Sica, has become the new standard in South Florida. The team's lone loss was a 4-0 setback to Los Alamitos (Calif.) during a 1-1-1 showing at the South Bay Classic in California.

Coppell Coppell, TX 13-2-1
Ellie Stewart scored the first two goals, but the Cowgirls took the lead for good with Haley Roberson's score en route to a 4-3 win over then SIMA FAB 50-ranked Hebron last week. Coppell followed up that result with a 5-1 victory over Lewisville.

Chaparral Scottsdale, AZ 21-1-3*
Season Complete. Arizona Class 6A state champion.
School Facts: Public, 2,100 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: MIT commit Isabella Struckman scored three goals as Chaparral rolled Hamilton 4-0 for the Firebirds' second straight 6A state title and fourth straight state championships. Fellow senior Chloe Steinhilber had two assists against Hamilton. Chaparral won back-to-back 5A titles before moving to 6A for the 2018-19 season. This year's seniors leave with a varsity record of 81-8-9.

School Facts: Private, 5,400 students, grades K-12 (at three campuses).
NOTES: Anuhea Aluli scored in the 51st minute and KS-Kapalama defeated King Kekaulike 1-0 to caps an undefeated season and repeat as state champions. Kalia Kalua was named Most Outstanding Player for the state tournament. Five other KS-Kapalama players, including Aluli, were named to the all-tournament team.

Grapevine Grapevine, TX 18-0-2
Grapevine hasn't allowed a goal since a 6-1 victory over Rouse on Jan. 18. What might be even more eye-opening is the fact the Mustangs have scored 66 goals in the 10 games since.

Season Complete. CIF Southern Section Division 1 quarterfinalist.
School Facts: Private, 1,600 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Harvard-Westlake's season ended with a 3-2 overtime loss to Upland. The Wolverines also had a regular-season loss to JSerra and tied Grapevine (Texas) at the National Elite Prep Showcase in Texas. Harvard-Westlake had two wins over FAB 50-ranked Chaminade and defeated Lake Travis (Texas).

St. Francis Sacramento, CA 22-2-3
Lindsey Piatanesi, Marli Berry and Jackie Stanco scored the goals as St. Francis edged Ponderosa 3-2 to win the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I title. The Troubadours move on to the NorCal Regional quarterfinals and a date with Oak Ridge.

Monte Vista Danville, CA 18-2-2
Kaela Standish scored the game-winner as Monte Vista defeated Berkeley 1-0 to capture the North Coast Section Division I title. Monte Vista received the No. 2 seed in the NorCal Regional Division I championships and will face St. Francis-Mountain View in the quarterfinals.

Vandegrift Austin, TX 15-2-2
Vandegrift played to a 2-2 draw with SIMA FAB 50 No. 26 Round Rock last week before handling Austin McNeil 6-0. The Vipers remain undefeated in district play and just ahead of Round Rock and Westwood in a top-heavy District 13-6A race. Vandegrift, Round Rock and Westwood are a combined 26-0 in league play against the other six district teams, which all have losing records.
