The 2020-2021 winter high school season includes the following states: Arizona, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. The rankings are compiled by high school rankings editor Sheldon Shealer.

Season Complete. Texas Class 6A state champion.
School Facts: Public, 3,615 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Kansas State signee Riley Baker scored both goals as Flower Mound defeated Vandegrift 2-1 in the Texas 6A state final. The Jaguars had a loaded roster in 2021 but with seven projected starters returning next year, Flower Mound might be even better in 2022. All four starting seniors, including Baker, are headed to NCAA Division I programs: Peyton Whipple (Arkansas), Madison Schott (Alabama), and Tatum Beck (Louisiana-Lafayette), A talented underclass group is led by Texas A&M commit Sydney Becerra. Seven of the starters play for Solar and Sting, two of the Top 10 clubs nationally in the Under-18 age group.
2 Prosper Prosper, TX 24-1-0
Season Complete. Texas Class 6A regional quarterfinalist.
School Facts: Public, 3,875 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Prosper's perfect season ended with a 3-1 overtime loss to eventual state champion Flower Mound. The Eagles had outscored their first 24 opponents 135-7, a staggering feat in Texas 6A competition. Prosper had seven all-district first-team and four superlative selections, which included Texas Tech signee Kaitlyn Giametta, Florida commit Molly McDougal, Oklahoma commit Hadley Murrell, Texas A&M signee Jordyn Gunnarson, Tulsa signee Haley Nichols, and Oklahoma commit Cassie Clifton.
3 St. Johns Country Day Orange Park, FL 18-0-0
Season Complete. Florida Class 2A state champion.
School Facts: Private, 675 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: St. John's Country Day routed Canterbury 6-0 in the state final, marking the 10th straight state crown for this perennial power. Of course, Class 2A provides no challenge for this program that featured seven NCAA Division I signees in its senior class. The Spartans did pin a defeat on 7A state champion Bartram Trail during the regular season. SJCD's signees are Paige Crews (Texas Christian), Mia Sadler (Southern Mississippi), Natalie Wilson (Southern Mississippi), Alexis Agramonte (Troy), Maddie Moody (Davidson), Lauren Weiss (North Florida), Lexi Drumm (College of Charleston), and Ellie Rosenau (Berry). Juniors Bella Pontieri (Virginia Tech) and Julia Boaventura (Southern Mississippi) also committed to NCAA Division I programs.
4 Montverde Academy Montverde, FL 11-0-0
Season Complete. Independent program.
School Facts: Private, 1,200 students, grades K-12.
NOTES: Montverde Academy ran its win streak to 55 matches with a fourth straight undefeated season. The Eagles defeated FAB 50 No. 9 and Florida 7A champion Bartram Trail and pinned the only loss on FAB 50 No. 12 and 3A state champion Lakeland Christian. Nine seniors have committed to college programs, led by Maria Tregansin, Mia Asenjo, and Xashlie Negron, who are all headed to UCF, and Isabella Recinos, who signed with UMass.
5 Ursuline Academy Dallas, TX 22-1-0
Season Complete. TAPPS Division I state champion.
School Facts: Private, all-girls, 850 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Missouri signee Kyle Dobbs scored four goals as Ursuline routed St. Agnes, returning the TAPPS Division I state title to the Dallas Metroplex, where it has resided 35 of the last 36 years. Ursuline's lone loss was to Texas 6A state champion Flower Mound.
6 Vandegrift Austin, TX 20-4-2
Season Complete. Texas Class 6A state runner-up.
School Facts: Public, 2,700 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Vandegrift avenged two of its three regular-season losses with a stellar playoff run that ended with a 2-1 loss to Flower Mound in the state final. Lily Spencer scored the team's state final goal, which at the time tied the score at 1.
7 Round Rock Round Rock, TX 20-2-1
Season Complete. Texas Class 6A regional runner-up.
School Facts: Public, 3,600 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Round Rock's season ended with a 4-2 playoff loss to district rival Vandegrift. The Dragons had defeated and tied Vandegrift during the regular season. Round Rock's only other loss was to Prosper.
8 Lake Travis Austin, TX 20-2-2
Season Complete. Texas Class 6A regional quarterfinalist.
School Facts: Public, 3,200 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Lake Travis' season ended with a 1-0 loss to Round Rock in the regional quarterfinals. Lake Travis' only other defeat was early in the season to Prosper.
9 Bartram Trail St. Johns, FL 19-2-0
Season Complete. Florida Class 7A state champion.
School Facts: Public, 2,310 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Bartram Trail handed Cypress Bay its only loss of the season in a 4-0 decision in the Class 7A state title, marking the Bears' second straight crown. Bartram Trail's only losses were to FAB 50 No. 3 St. Johns Country Day and No. 4 Montverde Academy, both were one-goal setbacks.
10 Round Rock Westwood Austin, TX 13-4-3
Season Complete. Texas Class 6A region runner-up.
School Facts: Public, 3,600 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Just like Round Rock, Westwood's season came to an end with a playoff loss to Vandegrift. Westwood had tied and defeated Vandegrift during the regular season. Overall, District 25-6A puts three teams in the FAB 50 Top 10 this season, marking a first for this Austin-area district.
11 Westlake Austin, TX 15-3-1
Season Complete. Texas Class 6A region runner-up.
School Facts: Public, 2,770 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Westlake's season ended with a bi-district loss to Westwood. The team's only other losses were to Lake Travis in what proved to be the strongest-ever showing for Austin-area girls programs.
12 Lakeland Christian Lakeland, FL 22-1-0
Season Complete. Florida Class 3A state champion.
School Facts: Private, 1,025 students, grades K-12.
NOTES: After years of playing second fiddle to St. Johns Country Day in Class 2A, Lakeland Christian moved to 3A and claimed a state title with a 4-2 decision over FAB 50 No. 15 American Heritage-Delray. In the final, Lakeland Christian rallied from a 2-1 deficit in the second half. Sophomore Carly Sabat scored twice, sophomore Maddie Lopez and senior standout Katie Carnes scored goals. Carnes, who signed with Charleston Southern, finished her four-year career with 112 goals and 104 assists.
13 Xavier College Prep Phoenix, AZ 10-2-1
Season Complete. Arizona Class 6A state champion.
School Facts: Private, all-girls, 1,135 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Hennessy Perez and Eva Allen scored the goals as Xavier defeated four-time defending state champion Chaparral 2-0 in the state final. The victory marked Xavier's 11th state title. Allen was named the state's Class 6A offensive player of the year while teammate Ololade Adebayo was the defensive player of the year.
14 Perry Gilbert, AZ 13-1-1
Season Complete. Arizona Class 6A state semifinalist.
School Facts: Public, 3,550 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Perry, the Class 6A No. 1 seed, lost a heartbreaker in the state semifinals, conceding a goal from 40 yards out as time expired in the second overtime against eventual state champion Xavier. Perry's roster featured Kansas State signee Joelle Lujan along with Sierra Haren and Jazmyn Brass, all of whom made the 6A all-state first team.
15 American Heritage-Delray Delray Beach, FL 14-1-1
Season Complete. Florida Class 3A state runner-up.
School Facts: Private, 1,700 students, grades K-12.
NOTES: Cheyenne Lam and Isabella Larriu scored to give American Heritage-Delray a 2-1 lead before surrendering three goals in a 4-2 state final loss to Lakeland Christian.
16 Oviedo Oviedo, FL 15-2-1
Season Complete. Florida Class 7A regional runner-up.
School Facts: Public, 2,450 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Led by sophomore standout Valatina Amaral, Oviedo reached the region final before losing 2-1 to eventual 7A state champion Bartram Trail. Amaral, a four-star prospect and ranked among the nation's Top 150 for the Class of 2023, scored a team-best 19 goals. Stetson signee Kyleigh Thelen and Raisa Lugo each had 12 goals.
17 Dripping Springs Dripping Springs, TX 27-1-1
Season Complete. Texas Class 5A state champion.
School Facts: Public, 1,800 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Freshman Taylor Hodsden scored the deciding goal as Dripping Springs upended Wakeland 2-1 in the Texas 5A state final. Sophomore Riley Sisson scored in the final 65 seconds of the first half to tie the match at 1. Sophomore keeper Caroline Dill, the game's MVP, delivered key saves to secure the program's first state title. Dripping Springs' only loss was a 4-1 setback to FAB 50 No. 10 Round Rock Westwood to start the season.
18 Wakeland Frisco, TX 20-3-3
Season Complete. Texas Class 5A state runner-up.
School Facts: Public, 2,050 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Despite taking a lead and dominating the first half, Wakeland was not able to put the match away and ended up losing to Dripping Springs 2-1 in the state final.
19 Highland Park University Park, TX 22-1-0
Season Complete. Texas Class 5A regional runner-up.
School Facts: Public, 2,150 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Highland Park's perfect season ended with a 2-1 playoff loss to Wakeland. Highland Park outscored its opponents 136-8, which included a win over FAB 50-ranked Allen.
20 Chaparral Scottsdale, AZ 13-3-0
Season Complete. Arizona Class 6A state runner-up.
School Facts: Public, 2,250 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: After winning back-to-back 6A crowns and then back-to-back 5A titles the two years before that, Chaparral's title run ended with a 2-0 setback to Xavier in the 6A final. Chaparral featured the state's most touted player in four-star prospect Sami Fisher, one of the Class of 2023's top recruits. Fisher was named the state's 6A Player of the Year.
21 Plant Tampa, FL 18-2-0
Season Complete. Florida Class 7A state semifinalist.
School Facts: Public, 2,500 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Plant's season ended with a 3-0 loss to eventual state champion Bartram Trail in the state semifinals. The only other blemish on the team's record was a shootout loss. Otherwise, the Panthers went 18-0, outscoring opponents 93-6. Tampa Bay Rowdies club player Quinn Ryan was the team's top scorer.
22 Byron Nelson Trophy Club, TX 16-2-2
Season Complete. Texas Class 6A regional quarterfinalist.
School Facts: Public, 2,500 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Byron Nelson was upset by district rival Keller in the regional quarterfinals. The setback was a bitter pill for a team that had an impressive run, which included wins over FAB 50-ranked Grapevine and perennial power Southlake Carroll.
23 Grapevine Grapevine, TX 24-3-2
Season Complete. Texas Class 5A state semifinalist.
School Facts: Public, 1,925 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Grapevine's season ended with a 3-2 setback to Wakeland in the state semifinals. Grapevine had a loss early in the season to Byron Nelson but posted a key midseason win over 6A power Coppell.
24 Marcus Flower Mound, TX 20-4-5
Season Complete. Texas Class 6A regional runner-up.
School Facts: Public, 3,090 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Marcus had a 10-match undefeated run until losing to Flower Mound 3-0 in the regional final.
25 Coppell Coppell, TX 14-5-4
Season Complete. Texas Class 6A Bi-District runner-up.
School Facts: Public, 2,050 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Coppell's season ended with a 2-0 loss to Prosper. Coppell had a 10-match undefeated run until losing three of its final four matches, and those contests were against FAB 50 No. 2 Flower Mound, No. 3 Prosper and No. 24 Marcus.
