Quotes and Notes
“I think last year’s game was similar to this year’s game, where they had the better of the performance last year. We were fortunate to execute. Valeria scored on a penalty kick and a free kick last year. So we took our opportunities last year. Today obviously, a strong team. It was tough for us to create opportunities against them because defensively, they’re a very good team. But I thought we worked hard. I think we matched their intensity. I thought we defended really well. And in the last 10 or 12 minutes, when we were pushing to try to get that next goal, we put them under some pressure, we created some corners and we created some free kicks. Last year, we scored from those free kicks and those corners.”
“It was a good game. It was tough. I was happy with how we played. It’s always important that you can come and compete and work hard in hot weather and on a Sunday after we played on Thursday night.” - Rider Head Coach Drayson Hounsome
- Just the second game in the all-time series between Rider and Columbia, the Lions evened the series following the Broncs’ 2-1 win last season.
- Carmen Carbonell (Valencia, Spain/Guadalaviar School) made five saves in defeat.
- The Broncs return to action Thursday, when they play host to Delaware State. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+ at 7 p.m.
Broncs By The Numbers
