Holy Cross announces women's 2012 schedule
Holy Cross athletic director Richard M. Regan, Jr. and head women's soccer coach Darren Gallagher have announced the Crusaders' schedule for the 2012 season. Holy Cross is scheduled to play a total of 18 games during the regular season, including 10 at the Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium.
The Crusaders open the 2012 season with a home game versus Wagner on Aug. 19. Holy Cross then hosts Providence (Aug. 24) before traveling to Bryant (Aug. 30). After a home contest against Quinnipiac (Sept. 2), the Crusaders will play at Rhode Island (Sept. 4), while they will then host Fairfield (Sept. 9) and travel to Hartford (Sept. 13). After home contests versus Delaware State (Sept. 16) and New Hampshire (Sept. 19), Holy Cross will play at Manhattan (Sept. 22).
The Crusaders will kick off Patriot League action with a home game against defending Patriot League Tournament champion Army (Sept. 29), followed by road contests with Bucknell (Oct. 5) and 2011 Patriot League regular season champion Colgate (Oct. 7). The Crusaders then return home for a match up with Lafayette (Oct. 13) and then play a road contest versus 2011 NCAA Tournament participant Harvard (Oct. 16). Holy Cross then concludes the regular season with home games versus American (Oct. 19) and Navy (Oct. 21), followed by a contest at Lehigh (Oct. 27).
The Patriot League Tournament is set for Nov. 2 and 4 on the campus of the regular season champion. The top four teams in the final regular season standings will take part in the tournament.
