Rajovic Picks Up Third Career MAAC Award
EDISON, New Jersey - Sophomore goalkeeper Mark Rajovic was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced Monday. This is the second time this season he has won the award and third time in his career.
Rajovic helped Marist remain unbeaten in conference play by making nine saves and allowing just two goals in a pair of overtime contests this week. He made six stops to preserve a 1-1 tie at Quinnipiac on Oct. 7 and compiled an .857 save percentage in the match. He made three more saves in a 2-1 overtime victory against Fairfield on Oct. 10 in Tenney Stadium. Rajovic had a 0.91 goals against average and .818 save percentage in more than 200 minutes played in the two matches.
Marist (6-5-1, 4-0-1 MAAC) will look to extend its five game unbeaten streak when it travels to Iona for a 7 p.m. match Oct. 14.
