Sting debuts at U16

Dallas Sting enters the rankings this month after a 3-0-1 run in the month of February. Sting earned a draw with No. 8 Tophat at the ECNL Texas Showcase, then defeated Connecticut FC and Washington Premier to close out the weekend. Conference play began again at the end of the month, where a 2-1 win over Texas Rush, on goals by Kathryn Rogers and Grace Harr, propelled Sting to second in the Texas Conference (behing No. 1 Solar) and No. 25 in the Grande Sports TeamRank Top 25.

Sol, YMS climb at U17

SC Del Sol forward and Santa Clara recruit Kelsey Turnbow keeps tearing up the scoresheet, February being no exception. Del Sol sits in second in the Southwest Conference with two wins to add to its record. Turnbow scored in both contests, increasing her season total to 15 goals, and helping her team climb to No. 10.

Yardley Makefield Premier qualified for the US Youth Soccer National Championships via the USYS National League back in December, but its regional league season has just begun. YMS came in like a lion in the Region I Champions League, taking care of its first opponent by an 8-0 margin to top the Red Division and climb one spot to No. 23.

Back in action at U18

With one win against FC Dallas in the month of February, Solar remains in second in the Texas Conference with a record of 8-2-1, but climbs two spots to No. 16.

The biggest climb in this age group comes from McLean Youth Soccer that enters the rankings at No. 22. McLean reached the top of the Chesapeake Division standings with its win over NC Fusion on February 27, and with just two conference matches left on the schedule, could finish the season well positioned for the playoffs.

Next Thursday: U13, U14, and U15 Boys

Grande Sports TeamRank is the comprehensive team-ranking system devised by TopDrawerSoccer.com to provide an objective and common-sense approach to determining which elite youth soccer teams are the best in the nation.

The rankings, updated monthly, are primarily results-based, with a nod toward the league and championship competitions that emulate how excellence is determined in leading soccer nations around the world.

Tournaments are also included but at a reduced value due to the many mitigating factors involving such events, including attrition and guest players.

A final layer of executive evaluation is provided to account for variables that often impact results, thus ensuring that the monthly lists are not subjective, but are not purely mechanical.
