Younger prospects get U20 MNT chance

The U.S. Under-20 MNT kicks off a camp today, as this year’s Concacaf Championship draws closer.

It’s a massive stretch for the age group, and this year’s tournament serves a dual purpose: qualifying for the 2023 U20 World Cup, and qualification for the 2024 Olympics.

With MLS teams in action this weekend, Mikey Varas has summed a roster that features several players born in 2004 and 2005. Varas likely has a good idea of what the best 2003s offer this roster, meaning the 20 players in California have a huge shot to push for at least the fringes of the qualifying team.

Here’s a look at six players that can make a big case for inclusion this summer.
