WOMEN'S SOCCER LOSES OPENER 1-0 TO BOSTON U

BOSTON - The University of Dayton women's soccer team opened up the 2013 season with a 1-0 loss at Boston University Friday night at Nickerson Field.
Sophomore Nicole Waters led the Flyers with three shots. Fellow sophomore Ashley Campbell added two shots. Campbell, Waters and freshman Meghan Blank each had a shot on goal for UD. The Terrier goalkeeper Andrea Green was flawless in goal with three saves and disrupting UD's set pieces. The Flyers had four cornerkicks to BU's two.
Dayton outshot BU 6-5 in thefirst half, but the BU defense held the Flyers to just two shots in the second stanza.
Freshman Elizabeth James had two saves in goal in her collegiate debut.
The Flyers stay on the East Coast and take on Providence this Sunday, Aug. 25 at 1 p.m. at Chapey Field.
