CHARLESTON, S.C. (Feb. 17, 2011) – US Club Soccer’s 2011 id2 National Selection is set to experience the United Kingdom’s best, on- and off-the-field.
 
Equipped with the best 18 male players born in 1997 and 1998 from the fall 2010 id2 Regional Training Camps, the id2 National Selection will play four games on the Feb. 17-27 trip to Scotland and England in addition to conducting daily training sessions and experiencing the day-to-day culture of some of the world’s most well-known professional clubs.
 Keep updated on the id2 National Selection International Tour on US Club Soccer’s Facebook page, which will include all the latest videos, photos and updates from the tour. A total of five video journals will be produced during the trip.
 
Formidable opponents in Celtic F.C. Academy, Everton F.C. Academy and Manchester City F.C. Academy await the id2 National Selection squad upon arrival in the United Kingdom.
 
Glasgow, Scotland will serve as the team’s base for the first half of the trip, before the squad heads to Manchester, England for the final five nights of the tour.
 
The team will attend a pair of professional matches, including a clash between rivals Celtic F.C. and Rangers F.C. on Feb. 20 and an Enligh Premier League contest between Wigan Athletic F.C. and Manchester United F.C. on Feb. 26. The squad will also take a behind-the-scenes tour of the famed Old Trafford Stadium on Feb. 23 and Manchester City Stadium on Feb. 25.
 
Consistent with US Club Soccer’s philosophy that identification and development should be free to players, the organization is funding the trip in conjunction with the strong support of Nike; there is no cost to players.
