Preseason is just around the corner as the 2023 college season draws near.

New classes are nearly set, with minimal movement taking place over the past couple of weeks. A few international additions have been revealed, perhaps the only uncertainty left in women’s Division I soccer.

The July update to the women’s DI Recruiting Class Rankings moves to 45 new groups. The final rankings will be released in August.

1. North Carolina (1)

It’s a tremendous class on paper heading to Chapel Hill this year. The addition to the returning players is going to have UNC on track for a College Cup return once again.

2. Florida State (2)

Commitments: F Jordynn Dudley (United Futbol Academy – No. 14), D Maggie Taitano (San Diego Surf – No. 21), D Amelia Van Zanten (Eclipse Select – No. 23), M Peyton Nourse (Colorado Rush – No. 33), GK Adelyn Todd (Real Colorado – No. 51)

Transfers: M Taylor Huff (Tennessee), M Claire Rain (Tennessee), F Lily Farkas (Michigan)

The addition of Todd, a former Oklahoma commit, helps boost the group to the No. 2 spot when taking the transfer adds into consideration.

3. Stanford* (3)

Commitments: M Mia Bhuta (Internationals SC – No. 4), M Shae Harvey (Slammers FC HB Koge – No. 12), F Erica Grilione (Davis Legacy – No. 28), M Joelle Jung (MVLA – No. 35), F Maryn Wolf (San Diego Surf – No. 147), GK Alyssa Savig (Placer United SC)

The Cardinal still have added a stacked class despite the fact Alyssa Thompson went pro. Bhuta and Harvey should be able to come in and play right away. It’s an elite reinforcement in the midfield for sure.

4. Virginia (4)

Commitments: M Yuna McCormack (Bay Area Surf – No. 6), GK Victoria Safradin (Internationals SC – No. 8), M Ella Carter (TSJ FC Virginia – No. 27), F Alexandra Ross (Concorde Fire – No. 103), D Aniyah Collier (GSA – No. 138)

An exceptionally talented group has left Charlottesville, meaning this class has huge shoes to fill. McCormack is an early Freshman of the Year candidate, as she has the quality to step in and excel right away in the ACC. Safradin should be in the mix to start.
