August 15, 2009
Beginning Sunday, the Home Depot Center in Carson, California will be occupied with incoming U.S. Youth National camps over the next two weeks.
Twenty-four U15 players arrive for a week’s worth of training under the guidance of coach Mike Dickey, to be followed by 36 U14s arriving Aug. 23. It will be the third training of the year for the U15s and will include three scrimmages – two against outside competition.
The U.S. U-15 Girls’ National Team will come together for a training camp from Aug. 16-23 at The Home Depot in Carson, Calif. as head coach Mike Dickey will train 24 players.

Twenty-one of the players joining were born in 1994, with one in 1993 and two in 1995. The players will also get to attend the inaugural WPS Championship Game that will be held at The HDC on Aug. 22. The players in this camp are all age-eligible for the 2010 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Trinidad & Tobago, which has an age cut-off of players born on or after Jan. 1, 1993. The 2008 U.S. U-17 Women’s World Cup Team had several players who were two years younger than the age cut-off year. One player in this camp – 5-foot-8 midfielder Morgan Andrews – also participated in the recently completed U.S. U-14 I.D. Camp in Pomona, Calif.
