Former U.S. Residency ace commits

Former U.S. Residency ace commits
February 3, 2012

Many dreams were sealed with a signature this week as athletes around the country made their college plans official.

For Andrew Chang, his decision was a long time coming. Options can make committing a difficult task, and he certainly had them.

Chang has been a top rated prospect for years and his work ethic and hunger for development has always extended beyond the soccer field.

That’s why Chang made his commitment to Harvard official, setting himself on a course that will challenge both his athletic and academic aspirations.

“I’ve always really valued education, and Harvard is one of the top schools in the world,” Chang said. “I was always interested in the Ivy League, and the opportunity to attend such a great school and get to play soccer for an equally great soccer program was a clear choice to me.”

Chang has been a popular choice of U.S. Soccer throughout his career, touring with the U14 and U15 squads before being called into U17 Residency last year.

Currently a Sockers FC standout, Chang’s play has kept him inside of our Top 100 rankings. He’s always possessed a great feel for the game and play-making ability that ultimately led him down his current path.

And what a promising one it is.

There were many other boys’ commitments that came in during Signing season including a late one from Seattle Sounders FC striker Dominique Dismuke.

As late as a week ago, Dismuke had not completely made up his mind concerning his college destination though he was leaning towards Washington, where he ultimately signed this week.

“It’s always been my favorite school, ever since I was little, so it’s kind of been a dream of mine to play and get my education there,” said Dismuke, his team’s leading goal scorer. “It’s a great school, the soccer team is getting better and better and the coaches are all amazing. I’m looking forward to playing for them.”
