Pre-Academy teams spotlighted at U13

Solar Chelsea Pre-Academy climbs from No. 9 to No. 5 this month while they remain the only undefeated team in the Texas Pre-Academy league. Though No. 6 Dallas Texans currently top the league standings, Solar earned a draw with the Texans in October, and the Texans suffered their first loss to FC Dallas last week.

St. Louis Scott Gallagher Pre-Academy has earned six shutouts in nine matches in the Academy division of the Midwest Developmental League. Their 9-0-0 record is good enough for tops in the league and good enough for a No. 19 ranking in the Grande Sports Academy TeamRank Top 25.

Four in, four out at U14

Four teams are putting together good records in the Development Academy, and climb into the top ten this month in the Grande Sports Academy TeamRank Top 25. Dallas Texans, Orlando City, Philadelphia Union, and PDA all fared better than teams previously in the top ten and climb accordingly. Orlando City, in particular, continues to be the most prolific team in the league, with Alejandro Pereira’s 23 goals helping his team to a No. 8 ranking.

South Carolina United Battery enters the rankings this month at No. 17. The Battery, whose only loss on the season was a 1-0 contest to No. 1 New York Red Bulls, is led by forward Jackson Bracy, defenders Jack Wilson and James Shealy, a best xi TDS Combine Raleigh alum, and midfielders Liam Hudock and James Cox.

SC Sporting, Dallas Texans climb at U15

Both Santa Clara Sporting 99B and Dallas Texans 00 Red have had successful fall seasons in their respective regional leagues, helping Sporting raise its ranking from No. 23 to No. 19, and allowing the Texans to enter the rankings at No. 25. Santa Clara finished the California Regional League’s NorCal division on top of the standings with a 7-0-0 record, while the Texans finished second in the RIIIPL West standings and anticipate a good season in US Youth Soccer’s National League, which begins next month in Raleigh.

Next Thursday: U13, U14, and U15 Girls

Grande Sports Academy TeamRank Top 25 is the comprehensive team-ranking system devised by TopDrawerSoccer.com to provide an objective and common-sense approach to determining which elite youth soccer teams are the best in the nation.

The rankings, updated monthly, are primarily results-based, with a nod toward the league and championship competitions that emulate how excellence is determined in leading soccer nations around the world.

Tournaments are also included but at a reduced value due to the many mitigating factors involving such events, including attrition and guest players.

A final layer of executive evaluation is provided to account for variables that often impact results, thus ensuring that the monthly lists are not subjective, but are not purely mechanical.
