Prolific Blues reach top five at U16

After capturing the prestigious Surf Cup championship in August, So Cal Blues hit the ground running when ECNL play started on September 11. The Blues lead the Southwest Conference with a 6-0 record on 20 goals, with goalkeepers Ryan Campbell (Class of 2020) and Megan Short (Class of 2019) combining for just two goals against. Class of 2019 standout forward Isabella D’Aquila leads the scoring with nine goals to propel her team to No. 3.

One of three new teams with this update is No. 16 Mtn. View Los Altos ECNL. The Bay Area Division leader is undefeated with a 5-0 record which includes wins over divisional opponents No. 17 De Anza Force and No. 23 Mustang SC.

Surf, Fire climb at U17

Surf Cup champion San Diego Surf ECNL inches up three spots to No. 9 after finishing September in second place in the Southwest Conference, just behind No. 6 So Cal Blues. Surf has a 3-0-1 record against conference opponents, which included a 1-1 draw with the Blues.
Concorde Fire plays the bulk of its season before Christmas so its players can concentrate on high school soccer in the spring. It’s barely at the midpoint of the fall, but Concorde is already 12 games in, and with an undefeated 11-0-1 record, leads the Southeast Conference and lands at No. 8.

Tophat jumps big at U18

Tophat enters the top five at No. 5 with a 10-0 record in ECNL play and an eight point lead over Jacksonville FC in the Southeast Conference with two games in hand. Alabama verbal Casey Wertz leads this prolific crew with nine goals, followed closely by Caroline Orman with seven and Hannah Davis with six.

St. Louis Scott Gallagher Missouri enters the rankings at No. 25. With a 5-2 record, SLSG sits in third in the Midwest Conference, its only two losses coming at the hand of No. 1 Michigan Hawks.

Next Thursday: U13, U14, and U15 Boys

Grande Sports TeamRank is the comprehensive team-ranking system devised by TopDrawerSoccer.com to provide an objective and common-sense approach to determining which elite youth soccer teams are the best in the nation.

The rankings, updated monthly, are primarily results-based, with a nod toward the league and championship competitions that emulate how excellence is determined in leading soccer nations around the world.

Tournaments are also included but at a reduced value due to the many mitigating factors involving such events, including attrition and guest players.

A final layer of executive evaluation is provided to account for variables that often impact results, thus ensuring that the monthly lists are not subjective, but are not purely mechanical.
