The top U15-U19 boys teams in Northern California will be on display this weekend at the NorCal NPL Spring College Showcase. It is the second NorCal NPL Showcase of the 2015-16 season and takes place at Davis Legacy Soccer Complex in Davis, CA. The Showcase features a dramatic conclusion to the NorCal NPL Champions League with eight teams in each age group who qualified for the division based on NPL Fall results. The winner of the NPL Champions League division will be crowned the 2015-16 NPL Champions and represent NorCal Premier Soccer at the 2016 NPL National Finals in Aurora, CO.

U19 Champions League

Four teams are still in contention for the U19 NPL title which will be decided this weekend in Davis. Defending NPL National Champions, PAC San Jose, enter the weekend with a two point lead and can clinch the title with wins over third place CCSA Black and local rival Almaden FC. If PAC drops points, they will open the door for Earthquakes East Valley who would likely claim the top spot on goal differential. Earthquakes EV have tough matches this weekend as they face De Anza Force and Mustang Barcelona. CCSA and Mustang both have outside chances at the league title but they will each need to win both matches and hope the leaders drop points. The winner of the division will qualify for the NPL National Finals in Aurora, CO.

U17 Champions League

Sacramento United and Ballistic United are the two most likely teams with a shot at the NPL title in the U17 division. The teams meet in a head-to-head, blockbuster, match-up on Saturday afternoon. If Ballistic wins the match, they will be the NPL champions, however, if the teams tie or if Sacramento United wins, the division will come down to the final day. With a win, Sac United would take control of the division heading into their final day match with De Anza Force. They would then need to win that match as a loss would mean that Ballistic could win the division with a win over Monarcas. If the teams draw, Ballistic would win the division with a Sunday win or Sacramento United loss. Diablo FC have an outside shot at the league title but would need to win both matches and hope for Ballistic and Sac United to draw and then for both of them to lose their Sunday games.

U16 Champions League

Odyssey South enter the final weekend of the Champions League season in great position but still have some work to do in order to win the division. Odyssey South currently hold a four point lead and if they secure three points this weekend they cannot be caught, however, if they don't secure the necessary points the door opens for several teams. The most likely to catch Odyssey South are Marin FC or SMC Star who both play them in head-to-head match ups. Sacramento United also has an outside shot, but would need the three teams ahead of them to pick up losses or draws. The winner of the division qualifies for the 2016 NPL National Finals in Aurora, CO.

U15 Champions League

Defending NPL National Champions, Santa Clara Sporting, along with Galt FC and Earthquakes East Valley all have a realistic shot at winning the NPL title at the Spring Showcase this weekend in Davis, CA. Santa Clara enter the weekend in first place and will win the league if they win their matches against second place Galt FC and third place Earthquakes East Valley. Galt wins the league if they beat Sporting on Saturday and then win against Odyssey South on Sunday. Earthquakes trail by three points and will need to beat San Juan and hope for Sporting to beat Galt on Saturday. That would set up a final day match up between the two on Sunday, one that Earthquakes would need to win to become champions. Things get really interesting if Sporting and Galt draw on Saturday as it would leave all three teams in title contention on the final day. The winner of the U15 boys Champions League qualifies for the NPL National Finals in Aurora, CO from July 13-17.
