Each week, TDS digs into the latest recruiting news and looks at the implications for this fall and beyond.

Below is this week’s Recruiting Views, as Division I classes are confirmed and big programs add future commitments. It was a busy week, with more additions confirmed and recruiting continuing for 2022 with new rules looming.

Shifting in the winds

With the announcement of new rules prohibiting any contact between coaches and recruits until the end of a player’s sophomore year (specifically June 15) that should lead to a slowdown in terms of players committing for the class of 2022. That could also lead to a hypothetical acceleration over the next week, as the new rules are slated to go into effect on May 1.
