We’ve already canvassed the most pleasant U18 surprises in the well underway 2016-17 Development Academy season. Time to turn our gaze to the more important developmental age group: the U16s.
The U16s tend to be a mite more unpredictable than their older compatriots, partially because younger players are inherently more unpredictable by nature. But it’s also because these players are coming up from U12 and U14 groups with far less visibility where wins and losses aren’t even charted. Hard to know what you have coming until it arrives.
With that in mind, surprises at the U16 DA level are an inevitability. Here’s a handful of the most prominent this season. Don’t forget these names. They could be the foundation of new dynasties in the years to come.
