The U.S. Under-20 Women’s National Team will come together for a training camp from May 13-20 at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., as it continues its preparations for the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Japan. U.S. U20 WNT head coach Steve Swanson has called up 26 players for a camp that will feature two matches against the U.S. Under-23 Women’s National Team (May 15 and May 17, both at 3 p.m. PT) and a full international on May 19 against the New Zealand U20 Women’s National Team, which has also qualified for the Women’s World Cup to be held from Aug. 19 through Sept. 9 in five Japanese cities.

The vast majority of the players on the U.S. roster have been in the mix for a while now and helped the squad qualify in early March for the World Cup. However, Swanson has recalled powerful Duke forward Kelly Cobb and is also giving looks to forward Becca Wann of the University of Richmond, who also plays basketball for the Spiders, and Makenzy Doniak, a high school senior who plays for Slammers FC.

The U.S. U-20s have a 10-0-0 record this year, all in international matches, with forward Lindsey Horan, a high school senior, leading the team in goals with 10. The USA has scored 44 goals over those 10 matches while allowing just two. Forward Chioma Ubogagu has scored six times while midfielder Samantha Mewis and forward Maya Hayes have five goals apiece. Midfielder Julie Johnston and Kealia Ohai have found the net four times, as has forward Katie Stengel.
