INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Oct. 15, 2011) - Sarah Hagen scored two goals andNatalie Fettinger made six saves in her collegiate debut to lead the No. 12 University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's soccer team to a 4-1 win over Butler Saturday evening at the Butler Bowl.

The Panthers (14-1, 6-0 Horizon) won for the eighth-straight time and remained perfect in the league. They also avenged a regular season to the Bulldogs (7-7-1, 2-3 Horizon) from last season.

"It was a good win on the road, pretty convincing," UWM head coach Michael Moynihan said. "We felt it could have been 7-0 before we gave up the late goal. I was really happy with the goals that we scored in the second half. We created a ton of chances. We had a number of 1v1's and our movement up top off the ball was very good."

Kelsey Holbert got the scoring started in the 18th minute, finishing a loose ball play in the box from eight yards. The ball was played into the box and Laurel Ragalie pounced on the ball and played it wide to Holbert, who ran on and finished.

Statistically, the first half was even with each team getting seven shots. The teams' patient styles matched up, leading to even chances. Butler did put five shots on frame, but Fettinger came up with saves each time, including a pair of nice stops.

Milwaukee brought a 1-0 lead out of halftime and took it to the home team, scoring a pair of goals in the first seven minutes of the second half to put the game out of reach. 

After the break, it was all UWM. The Panthers took the first 12 shots of the second period, taking a 2-0 lead on Hagen's first goal--the eventual game-winner. Milwaukee earned a free kick and Hagen blasted a shot 31 yards on a line to the upper 90 for the score.

Just under four minutes later, Hagen struck again, this time off an assist from Krissy Dorre. Dorre slotted a cross through the box to Hagen, who beat the keeper to the ball and put it into the net to make it 3-0.

Hagen nearly added a goal just moments later after freeing Kelly Lewers on a well-placed through ball. Lewers' shot was stopped on a tremendous save by BU keeper Julie Burton. Hagen followed with a rebound, which Burton again stopped. Hagen once again got the rebound, but her follow-up hit the cross bar.

A well-played Butler goal made it 3-1 late, but Morgan LaPlant picked up her first collegiate goal, making a long run after a through ball from classmate Vienna Behnke. She ran onto the ball and beat her defender to the ball and slotted a shot past the keeper.

Milwaukee finished with a 20-9 shot advantage and took all four of the game's corner kicks. Fettinger made her debut an auspicious one, stopping six shots on the night. She made the start in place of Jamie Forbes, who was held out of the game with an injury.

4we43Burton made four saves for the Bulldogs and Elise Kotsakis scored the team's goal off an assist from Claire Milam. Milam made a long throw into the box, where Kotsakis received the ball, volleyed it to herself, spun and blasted it into the top of the net.

The Panthers return to action with a pair of road games next week, including at Loyola Wednesday and Illinois State Saturday.
