The youth movement is on with the U.S. Men’s National Team.

On Thursday, U.S. Soccer announced its 22-player roster for a friendly against Czech Republic on Sept. 3.

“When you start a new cycle, you want to see as many new players and young players breaking in as possible,” U.S. Men’s National Team head coach Jurgen Klinsmann said in a release. “Obviously you always respect your established players and you always want to give them the space to continue their good work, but you also want to use that opportunity going forward to introduce young blood into the program, give them time on the training field, and you also want to give them time in a real game and prove a point.”

Among the 22 players called in is Stanford(m) sophomore Jordan Morris who recently appeared with the U.S. U23 MNT in August and trained with the men’s national team in Palo Alto prior to the 2014 World Cup.

“We have watched Jordan [Morris] through our Youth National Teams and in the Development Academy for the last couple of years, and he is a very promising player,” Klinsmann said. “We saw him during our two weeks at Stanford for the World Cup preparation camp, and also from his play with U23 team in the Bahamas, and we felt like this was a good opportunity to introduce him to the Senior Team.”

Morris could become the first player still playing in college to appear for the men’s national team in well over a decade, and obviouslty, the first college player to be called in by Klinsmann. Morris is one of 15 players under the age of 24 on the U.S. roster for the friendly against Czech Republic, which will be broadcast live on NBC Sports Network on Sept. 3 at 2:15 p.m. (ET).
