BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Former Lehigh women's soccer standout Gina Lewandowski '07 was named to a 25-player training camp roster for the U.S. National Team earlier this month, ahead of two matches against Japan set for this Thursday (June 2) and Sunday (June 5). The USA came together in Denver on May 27 and will play Japan in Commerce City, Colo. Thursday (9 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1) and in Cleveland, Ohio Sunday (12:30 P.M. ET on ESPN2).

Eighteen players will suit up in each match. This marks the second time in nine months Lewandowski has been invited to join the U.S. National Team. In October, Lewandowski joined the World Cup winning U.S. National Team for friendlies vs. Brazil as part of its victory tour.

A member of the Patriot League 25th Anniversary Team, Lewandowski was Lehigh's only-ever four-time first team All-Patriot League honoree. She was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Year in 2003, tallying 26 points behind 12 goals (third in program history) and two assists, and followed with the league's Offensive Player of the Year honor in both 2004 and 2005. As a sophomore, Lewandowski scored a single-season school record 15 goals, while she tallied 16 points (six goals, four assists) as a junior. Lewandowski stands second in Lehigh history in career goals (36) and points (80), while she is first in game-winning goals for a career (15) and season (6).
