The runaway Player of the Week is Roberto Ordonez of Cal State Fullerton, a junior midfielder who either scored or assisted each goal the team scored. That began with a hat trick and two helpers in a 5-4 thriller of a win over CSUN. Then, with a penalty to secure a 1-0 win over UC Davis. Ordonez now has eight goals and five assists in his last six appearances, clearly one of the top players in college soccer.

Team of the Week: September 25-October 1

GK Ethan Brandt, Western Michigan – With 180 minutes played, eight saved, and none conceded against Wright State and UIC, the California native was an elite performer on the week.

D Dylan Steely, Belmont – The Sophomore defender found a way to have an outsized offensive impact with a goal and assist against Presbyterian and another goal versus Drake.

D Thomas Hastings, Delaware – The freshman standout was outstanding in all facets against George Washington as he played 76 minutes in a clean sheet and added a goal and assist from headers to give the team a 2-0 win.

D Aidan O'Connor, Virginia – The senior Michigan native stood tallest with 90 minutes, two wins, and two clean sheets against East Tennessee State and No. 13 Louisville, even adding an assist against the latter.

M Adem Hamdaoua, Santa Clara – The senior stepped up majorly to help secure a win against CSUN, then a goal and two assists in another win versus Saint Mary’s.

M Laurie Goddard, Merrimack – In a must-win game, Goddard scored a hattrick to make easy work of Howard.

M Roberto Ordonez, Cal State Fullerton – The POTW had an incredible seven days with four goals and two assists in two appearances.

M Jeorgio Kocevski, Syracuse – The senior captain did all he could with three assists in a 5-3 loss at No. 21 Duke.

F Yutaro Tsukada, West Virginia – Tsukada was vital for West Virginia and its two wins, as his goal and four assists accounted for five of the six goals scored against UNC Greensboro and Georgia State.

F Leo Mendez, California Baptist – In a surprising result against Grand Canyon, the senior scored twice and assisted another in the 3-0 victory.

F Tyrese Spicer, Lipscomb – The senior striker scored three goals between games against Georgia State and Central Arkansas, extending his scoring streak to eight, dating back to game one of the season.
