Stanford women beat USC 4-0

 STANFORD, Calif. – Kelley O’Hara and Christen Press each scored two goals as No. 1 Stanford scored four second-half goals to rout No. 15 USC, 4-0, at Laird Q. Cagan Stadium on Friday night.

O’Hara, who entered the week as the No. 3 goal-scorer in the country, now has 17 goals. She scored in the in the 55th and 63rd minutes to help the Cardinal (14-0 overall, 3-0 in conference) remain undefeated heading into a showdown with No. 3 UCLA on Sunday (1 p.m.) at home.

Christen Press broke the deadlock with a goal in the 53rd minute, when a hard shot by O’Hara was blocked by goalkeeper Kristin Olsen into Press’ path. She also scored in the 68th minute. Press has 14 goals this season.

“We’ve got to stay level-headed,” Stanford coach Paul Ratcliffe said. “We’ve only done half the job. We’re going to come in confident and aggressive, but we’re going to have to earn the win.

USC (10-4, 2-1) was outshot 34-6, and Olsen was required to make 13 saves.
