#UDWSOC KNOCKED DOWN 3-1 BY #6 TEXAS A&M

DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton women's soccer team (1-6-1) battled but fell 3-1 to No. 6 Texas A&M (7-1-0) Sunday at Baujan Field. The Aggies had a 2-0 lead at halftime. Sophomore Alexis Kiehl scored her first goal of the season in the 73rd minute to cut the lead in half, but A&M added an insurance goal in the 84th minute. STATS OF THE MATCH • Dayton's lone goal was on a set play. Senior Nicole Waters served up a free kick which senior Ashley Campbell headed towards goal, and Kiehl one-time volleyed it past the keeper. • The nationally-ranked Aggies amassed 23 shots, including eight on goal. • Texas A&M had a slight advantage on corner kicks, 5-4. • Flyer freshman goalkeeper Kaelyn Johns had five saves in goal. UP NEXT • The Flyers hit the road for a pair of non-conference matches in California. First up is Cal Poly this Friday, Sept. 18 at 10 p.m. ET and then UC Santa Barbara on Sunday, Sept. 20 at 4 p.m. ET. • UD opens the Atlantic 10 conference portion of its schedule on Oct. 1 at Saint Louis. • Dayton won't play again at Baujan until Sunday, Oct. 4 when the Flyers take on George Mason at 1 p.m. The promotions for that match include: Greek Game, Pink Game, Breast Cancer Awareness Night, postgame autographs, sophomore poster give-away and soccer scarf punch cards (get your card punch eight times and receive a free Dayton Soccer Scarf).
