BETHLEHEM, Pa. - After scoring the game's only goal in Saturday's Patriot League opening win at Holy Cross, Lehigh women's soccer freshman Sidonie Warnecker was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week on Monday. This marks the fourth straight week the Mountain Hawks have garnered at least one weekly award, marking Lehigh's third Rookie of the Week award this season (Sam Miller won the other two). Now 6-0-1 on the season, the Mountain Hawks return home on Tuesday to host Temple at 5 p.m.

Warnecker broke a scoreless tie with her second-career goal at the 55:16 mark on Saturday. She corralled a loose ball in the box and fired home what proved to be the game-winning goal. Sophomore defender Ashley Maziarz was also recognized on Monday among the honorable mention honorees. Maziarz helped lead Lehigh to its seventh straight shutout to begin the season while taking all of the Mountain Hawks' free kicks.

With Saturday's win, Lehigh moved to 1-0-0 in league play. A defensive game saw just 13 combined shots between the two sides, nine for the Mountain Hawks and four for the Crusaders. The Lehigh defense continued to impress, remaining the only Division I women's soccer team in the nation that hasn't allowed a goal.

Warnecker's second-career goal was also her second-career game-winner. On Friday, Sept. 9, she scored the game's first goal vs. Binghamton in a 2-0 victory.

Overall, the Lehigh defense hasn't allowed a goal for 723:57 dating back to last season. The four shots allowed were second fewest this season, only behind the three shots allowed at Mount St. Mary's. Miller was forced to make just one save in both contests.

Temple enters Tuesday's contest with a 3-6-0 record, most recently beating NJIT 2-0 on Sunday. Prior to that game, the Owls had lost four straight, to Towson (1-0), Princeton (3-0), Binghamton (3-1) and at Mount St. Mary's (2-0). Gabriella McKeown leads the team with eight points behind three goals and two assists while Sarah McGlinn has recorded five points (two goals, one assist) and Morgan Morocco owns four points (two goals). A pair of goalkeepers have started games this season, led by Jordan Nash who owns a 1.17 goals against average and .809 save percentage in 689:37 of action.

Lehigh won at Temple last season, 3-2 in overtime to take a 5-4-1 lead in the all-time series. Last season's game was the first since 2005, a 2-0 Mountain Hawks' victory. The first meeting between the sides came in 1991, an 8-0 Temple victory. Lehigh's first win came in 1999 by a 2-1 final.

Following Tuesday's game, the Mountain Hawks return to Patriot League action when they head to Colgate on Saturday. Opening kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
