Notre Dame wasn’t really in the ACC semi final. Florida State had controlled the game for too long, too precisely, to give the Irish any chance of getting anything from the contest.

Enter Korbin Albert.

The attacking midfielder drifted between the midfield and defensive lines, running at the Seminoles’ defense and creating chances. She took 10 shots, of which five came from outside the box. And she scored on three of them. It was a dominant performance from Albert, one enough to make a game of the ACC semi final. And although the Irish eventually lost on penalties, Albert was the best player on the pitch for all 110 minutes.
