Loyola men fall to UMBC

CATONSVILLE, Md. – The Loyola (MD) men’s soccer team got off three shots on goal in the final two minutes, but all were saved, and UMBC held on for a 1-0 non-conference victory Tuesday night.
UMBC’s Andrew Bulls scored on a free kick in the 43rd minute to post the only score of the match.
Phil Saunders made six saves in goal for the undefeated Retrievers (8-0-0).
Loyola (3-3-1) returns to action on Saturday, Septmeber 26, 2009, when it hosts 14th-ranked Monmouth at 1 p.m.
