Maryland women fall at Miami

CORAL GABLES, Fla. - The University of Maryland women's soccer team lost a 2-0 decision at the University of Miami Sunday afternoon at Cobb Stadium.
Miami freshman Jordan Roseboro scored in the 27th minute to give the Hurricanes a 1-0 lead. Megan Siebert took the corner kick and found Roseboro for the goal.
Miami took advantage of another corner kick in the 64th minute, with Siebert again taking the free kick. This time she played the ball back to Beverly Goebel, who found Brittney Steinbruch, who scored from 25 yards out for the 2-0 Miami lead.
Maryland fought desperately in the second half to get on the board and out-shot Miami 7-5 in the final 45 minutes. Sophomore forward Ashley Grove paced the Terrapins with four shots on the afternoon, while junior midfielder Caitlin McDowell followed closely with three.
The Terrapins will have a week to recover from their five-day road trip through the Sunshine State. Maryland (8-2-0, 0-2-0 ACC) will play at Duke (4-4-2, 0-1-0 ACC) on Sunday, October 4 at 2 p.m.
