Updated: October 27, 2009
DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Massachusetts women's soccer team suffered a 3-0 setback to Dayton in its final road match of the regular season on Sunday afternoon at Baujan Field. Following the loss, the Minutewomen are 4-10-2 overall and 3-6-0 in the Atlantic 10, while the Flyers remain one of just two undefeated teams in the nation, improving to 12-0-5 (8-0-1 A-10).

Dayton took an early 1-0 lead, scoring 1:28 into the contest. Cara Cornacchia's serve down the lefthand side into UMass territory was crossed into the box by Colleen Williams. Her cross was brought down by Lauren MacCormick who one-touched the ball into the net.

Then in the 17th minute, Mandi Back made it a 2-0 score as she dribbled along the endline and fired a shot that found the inside of the far post.

The Flyers went on to add their third and final tally at 46:16 as a slot pass by Kelly Blumenschein found Back in front, who finished the play for her second of the match and seventh of the season.

Redshirt junior Sydney Stoll (Dedham, Mass./Dedham) registered three of the Minutewomen's seven shots. Dayton totaled 22 shots and led in corner kicks, 9-1. Senior Lauren Luckey (Hendersonville, Tenn./Pope John Paul II) made nine saves for UMass, while Katherine Boone had three stops in net for the Flyers. Fouls were 11-10, against Dayton.

The Minutewomen will be back in action next Friday, Oct. 30, when the squad will play host to George Washington on Rudd Field at 2:30 p.m.
