Aguilar and Dobkins named to MVC all-tournament team

OMAHA, Neb. – Missouri State senior midfielders Samantha Aguilar and Jenna Dobkins were named to the Missouri Valley Conference all-tournament team today.

In the semifinal match on Friday, Aguilar drilled a ball off of the crossbar with just over seven minutes remaining.  The ball caromed back past Creighton keeper Alicia Montgomery to a wide open Dobkins who buried the ball to tie the match at 1-1.

With just over two minutes remaining in regulation, Dobkins got free behind the Creighton defense.  She was able to head the ball over Montgomery, but the ball trickled just wide of an open net.

Aguilar recorded a game-high four shots in Friday’s match.  Three of her shots were on goal.

For the season, Aguilar and Dobkins were tops in goals and points for the Bears.  Aguilar had five goals and 12 points, while Dobkins scored four goals and had nine points.
